So I've been re-watching a lot of WWF programming from 1999/2000 lately, and I'm still surprised at how over Chyna was at the time. She was by far the most over woman in the company, and was more over than a large number of the male roster. It's really interesting to see how much she did despite her gender. She was a part of D-X for a long time, then when they split she hung around with Billy Gunn during his KOTR push, and later with Triple H during his push to the WWF Championship (at one point she was the number one contender to Austin's title). When they split, Chyna won the Intercontinental Championship not once but twice, and later on won the Women's Championship at WM17.
Despite these achievements she's also had many personal problems - she quit the company in 2001 on bad terms, publicly trashing HHH and Stephanie many times, and for the past few years has become more known for laying on her back on a bed rather than on the canvas. She also joined TNA (very temporarily) a couple of years ago.
So considering all this, should she still be put into the Hall of Fame some day?

If she cleans herself up and quits porn then yes.

Maybe years down the road. Jake Roberts and Rick Rude (and many more) should go in before her.

If she cleans herself up and quits porn then yes. She quit porn several months ago.

Once you can trust her with a live mic in front of a crowd.... yes.

She deserves it as much as some of the other scum they've put in there.

Sure. She'll have to rebuild a lotta bridges though. Thats way more an obstacle than her being strung out.

If they let a convicted rapist in, then sure, why not

I was never a fan (except for that brief 3 way feud that was mostly carried by Chris Jericho and Jeff Jarrett), but she was a big part of the show for a while. if freaking Bob Orton jr. can get in Chyna deserves a place. but at the same time, I can't blame WWE for avoiding her like the plague as long as she continues going down the path she's on. I keep thinking rather chillingly it'll probably be a posthumous induction.

Johnny Rodz, Sunny, Lacey Von Erich. Chyna has contributed a lot more to wrestling than many people already in the HOF.

I'd Sunny is about on par with contributions really, inasmuch as she was the first woman they really sexualized to become a template for what they've later done with the Divas.

That's a good point, but I would still say that Chyna contributed more and was a bigger star. It's probably not fair to lump Sunny in as an example of someone who lowers the bar.

Once you can trust her with a live mic in front of a crowd.... yes. That would be my only reservation. Does she deserve to go in? sure. Can you trust her not to go off the rails with a live mic in her hand? I'm not so sure.

I think she got dumped by the porn industry, so that's one point off. She just needs to get clean and sober, and I'm certain she'll get in.

Stephanie would never allow it. She'd be afraid that old flames would be reignited and Chyna and HHH would rekindle their bromance.

Chyna was on the cover of the biggest selling issue of Playboy because she was a WWE star. She was a crossover star. She won the intercontinental title, more than once. She wrestled, convincingly, with men. She did things other women have never done, or have done only on an extremely small scale since (Beth Phoenix and Awesome Kong namely).
Putting her personal issues aside, saying she doesn't belong in the hall of fame is revisionist bullshit. I agree that she should clean up first, mind.
And you know what? I still think that '99-'03 era Chyna is hot as f***. That blend of masculinity and femininity is just great.

She's accomplished a lot more than some guys already in the HOF. She was a big piece of the Attitude Era puzzle. I mean, she and the Rock were at the 2000 Democratic convention for the SmackDown Your Vote campaign. It's easy for some to forget just how over and hot she was once upon a time. I still think that '99-'03 era Chyna is hot as f***. That blend of masculinity and femininity is just great.

"Rock Hard Traps"
Is that a euphamism for what we saw in that film Chyna made with X-Pac?
