Well for as long as the UFC has been around anyway? I'm not sure who I would put there, but am I wrong thinking Anderson Silva and Cain Velasquez would at least be on it?

Well for as long as the UFC has been around anyway? The UFC limitation removes Rickson Gracie and his 500-0 record out of contention.

Yeah, the reason I limited it to UFC was because of how much it MMA has changed over time. I was thinking of limiting it to just after the unified rules were formed, but figured UFC starting as a whole might be a better starting point. You can include guys before UFC too, but I thought it would be more interesting just limiting it to the more current crop. Admittedly current UFC is a far sight different from unregulated early UFC, but when you go back even further the comparison gets even tougher to make comparisons simply because a lot of that footage isn't around or at least not widely circulated.

I wouldn't put Cain on that list. He just hasn't had the same sort of competition that some others have had.
Fedor Emelianeneko, Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre would have to be on there.

I'm sure I will change my mind about a fighter from my top 5 every couple minutes but here's my list.
Edit: 5th guy is a tough one
Fedor, Minotauro, Anderson Silva, Bas Rutten & toss up between Royce Gracie, GSP & Cro Cop. Let's say Royce.

Would chuck liddell be on the list or no Influential yes, best ever list, nope. My top 5 is in no particular order. Anderson Silva, Fedor Emelianenko, Royce Gracie, Randy Couture, and a toss up between Wandy Silva, BJ Penn, and Minotauro... Let's go BJ for now

Fedor, Anderson and Royce are the obvious but the other two are a bit harder to decide on. I'm gonna say GSP and Cro Cop (his Pride run was amazing)

If you ever watched Royce when UFC was happening you could've seen what kind of domination this man had. He paved the way for generations to come and his bout with Sakuraba is a 101 for MMA beginners.
