I go to their YouTube channel all the time and have watched hours and hours of footage of it. Although they did feature that joker from the NWA giving a promo in English a while back this is the first time I can recall them featuring a video like this with English narration. Of course the matches are still called in Japanese, but at least it's something! Hopefully, this is the first step towards something more.

Something which may be of interest to you Kamalarambo and something we discussed on the board about a week ago.
On an NWA Forum I visit one of NWA's top wrestlers mentioned a possible NJPW American Dojo to be based in the Texas area to obviously work with the NWA in that area.
Apparently they are scouting talent in the States in a month or two so maybe the NJPW video's in English is an attempt to cater to the American audience.

It would certainly be a step up for the owner of the NWA. Since taking over the company he hasmade a lot of baffling moves (like putting the NWA title on Kahagas then taking it off him and slapping it on Rob Conway). The company trying to improve ties with NJPW has really been the lone bright spot in his tenure so far and if a successful NJPW American Dojo could be established in Texas then it would do A LOT to improve the NWA's current image.

The NJPW deal is very very one sided. NJPW mostly helps out the NWA all the NWA does is let them have World Title matches on the shows. NWA in return gets discounted prices on talents, right to use talent, a piece of the pie in this NJPW Dojo thing and a bunch more. I think NJPW should align themselves with someone a bit more credible. ROH, PWG even the old NWA Hollywood would be much better choices. Bruce Tharpe is pretty well known for screwing people over at this point and I hope that's something NJPW has taken into account.

I was pretty shocked to hear NJPW would even work with the NWA at all let alone put two promos of Bruce Tharpe on their YouTube page, lend them talent and goodness knows what else. NJPW must REALLY value the NWA name and history even if the NWA today has literally next to NOTHING in common with the NWA of the page. I'd rather NJPW work with TNA, ROH or heck even CZW since they've became a well rounded promotion in recent years. For whatever reason though the NJPW office are marks for the NWA (just like Tharpe is a mark for himself). Still, it's tough to fault Tharpe for taking advantage of this situation hence why I think it is the bright spot of his leadership.

The NWA World Heavyweight Title still means something in Japan that's why NJPW are so eager to get into bed with the NWA. To my knowledge the Japanese fans don't follow much past the big 3 in the United States so a lot of fans probably assume the NWA Title is just as big as it was in the 80's and simply don't know about things like the Adam Pearce/Colt Cabana situation, Kahagas getting the belt and shooting for it etc etc. You can't fault Tharpe for aligning himself with NJPW and taking the perks but you can blame him for stuff like this: Where he charges 200 dollars for a simple audition/seminar with NJPW. That's kind of a scum bag move in my mind.

Still, I wouldn't put it past AJPW or some other promotions to also work with the NWA. As for Tharpe charging $200 for an addition/seminar it is kind of scummy, but I've seen/read about so much worse from promoters it doesn't even really register at this point. On a related note I really doubt those auditions will lead to anything for anyone who plunks the money down. If a NJPW American Dojo is set up in Texas through their work with the NWA I would expect any shows they take part in to be made up of guys already in the NWA or NJPW. It almost seems like if someone is willing to drop $200 on this then they kind of deserve to lose it.

It almost seems like if someone is willing to drop $200 on this then they kind of deserve to lose it. Well for a price comparison I saw on my Facebook a promoter was promoting a Tommy Dreamer seminar who as you probably know recruited talent for WWE and knows what WWE wants etc etc. He was only charging 40 for his seminar. It's sad that promoters are now scamming the workers though. And yeah, I doubt anyone trying out for this thing is getting into NJPW that's why they aren't advertising that someone will definitely go to Japan from it. It's a way to work all the Texas local guys who no matter how talented they may be don't really have a shot. I think the NJPW Dojo in Texas will be similar to how it used to be in California. You'll have a bunch of local indy guys that NJPW wants to keep an eye on and occasionally a NJPW young boy will be sent over. It's a good idea and hopefully a lot of local American guys can get a shot from it but I don't see that happening with Tharpe in charge, sadly.

Pwg and revpro drew more fans with the same roster. Well american baloon i guess. Hell there was a show with 12 people, and then the wrestlers just quarter assed it. If they have the roster they have now giving the american guys place to work in the staes cool. But njpw tried the american dojo thing, and it did not work
