...by having Titus show a little bit of apprehension about going to the ring with the recently outed Darren, only to come around when he realizes he's still his friend.
Sure, Prime Time Players are heels, but they've got a great opportunity to create a story about tolerance on Saturday Morning SLAM that also enforces the B A STAR initiative, and it'll probably never be realized.

Yep I had the same idea. Only Titus is dealing with peer pressure and people trying to make it seem like he's gay too

Titus has openly supported him, so it' be kind of weird if they expected everyone to suddenly forget that.

I think that what Darren wants, and based on the gay folks I know, and my own opinion as a bisexual, what they want, is for him being gay to be TOTALLY IRRELEVANT. We have an openly gay WWE superstar - that's it. He continues in storylines, he gets no special treatment, nothing changes, it's just proven that it is now acceptable in WWE to be gay where before it might not have been. Any of the gay people on this forum are welcome to contradict me on that.

I REALLY hope they don't turn this into a storyline.

Why can't they just keep being the Prime Time Players like always? The funny YouTube videos, the occasional TV match, where we can all complain that they deserve better.

It's hard to say how they should handle this. On one hand it got a good bit of media attention so you should capitalize on that somewhat at least, but on the other hand it's like, WWE weren't really doing anything with Young in the first place so it seems weird if all of a sudden "oh? You're gay? Here comes a singles push!". I almost see them just bringing the Primetime Players out on RAW, giving them a match against Tons of Funk, commentators talk about Young doing the media rounds since coming out, PTP get the win, people are happy, commentators proud of Darren Young, never talk about this again and PTP end up back where they started.

Yeah, I'd go along with business as usual. This may see them promote Young more, but I'd much rather it be with PTP exactly as they are. Maybe bring back Titus' afro wig if a change is needed.

With regards to the character Darren Young plays on TV I think the most positive statement they can make is to change nothing.
I'm all for having him speak about his sexuality at Be a Star events but apart from that I don't understand why any special treatment should be made.
Darren Young has done a great thing by coming out and so far he and the WWE have handled the situation well, but let's not go TOO overboard, whether it's in a negative or a positive fashion the sexuality of a person should not define them.

If anything they should promote Darren Young as the consumate ladies man. Whenever the PTP feud with a team that has a valet, Darren ends up stealing their chick from them.
Cuckolded Wrestler: You're leaving me, for him?!
Valet: Why not? He's a great guy who appreciates me, unlike you!
Cuckolded Wrestler: But, but.....
Valet: "But" what?!
Cuckolded Wrestler: But....Oh, NOTHING!!!!!! *storms off in a huff*

They shouldn't refer to his sexuality at all. Just increase PTP's profile. Let them win some matches regularly and be competitive title conteders. PTP should have been pushed further than they have been even before Darren Young came out. They are legitimately entertaining. I crack up everytime Darren Young afros his hair during a match, or when they do their awesome dance.

I was proud to be a wrestling fan when a few people asked me "who was that wrestler that came out recently?" That's cool and all but...I do not want to see a Darren Young push, especially not because of who he chooses to f***. The PTP are okay characters, but I doubt I will ever actually enjoy their wrestling.

This will only work if somehow Rufus "Pancake" Patterson chimes in and teaches Titus the true meaning of friendship.

Yeah, this storyline would make sense but would need to turn PTP face in order to work. The gay community [/AJ Styles] is an audience WWE has never really targeted as customers. If they have Darren Young positively portray a gay wrestler and give him a push who knows how many fans they could pick up?

Ryback will just bully him backstage and there'll be no comeuppance to it.

Plenty of gay actors who play straight characters on TV. This should be no different.
