What do you think he's going to do after? Stay at home? Semi appearances? A scout or trainer or agent? A top management job?

I could see him as a good will ambassador, filling the role that WWE evidently offered Ric Flair after he retired.

I could see him being a development trainer or an ambassador.

He'll never retire. When his body becomes too broken down to wrestle, he'll be turned into a cyborg & be with WWE for-e-ver.

Who knows? I'd guess that Cena has another 10-15 years left in him yet. A lot can change in that span.

Whatever he ends up doing, he'll always be wearing a baseball cap, one of his shirts, jorts and sneakers.

I sadly see him going the hulk hogan / ric flair route. I picture him more as a Bruno Sammartino type, only without the cranky.

Like someone else said, I can't see him going any other route than one similar to Hogan & Flair.
Refusing to let go, even when his body's beyond repair. Likely being forced into a position like commentary or general manager, because he'll refuse to simply gracefully bow out into the night and WWE likely would never release him as long as he wants a job with them.

Taking his elevator up to his bedroom where he bangs Nikki Bella for the rest of his life.

We're talking about a man that rushes back from injuries even in comparison to most other wrestlers and who consistently is wrestling banged up while maintaining essentially a full time schedule. To the point where most of his contemporaries when talking about him, like Jericho & Edge, have said he wrestles through injuries that most of them would take time off of to heal up from. And, they don't say it in a "Man, he's so cool" way, they say it in a "I'm worried about the guy" way. The man isn't smart enough to do it. He loves it too much.

I don't know man, he's seemed to learn a lot from Flair and Hogan as far as what mistakes avoid. The man was smart enough to Pre-nup, and got through the cleanest divorce I've ever seen.

I don't think it'll be a matter of money for Cena, because like you said, he seems smarter about that. I think it'll be a matter of this is his life, and he won't want to leave the business behind or get a desk job behind the scenes.

Just imagine a Hogan or Flair without the scandals.
Cena's best possible contributions to the sport are going to come after he retires I think.

I don't quite understand why everyone thinks Cena is going the Flair and Hogan route. Cena doesn't seem like the type of person to go until his body breaks down. He wrestles until and injury forces him. When he has that injury he recovers and comes back. He is a workaholic and in the industry you have to.
WWE has no one close to him in terms of popularity. He understands this and is making a lot of money and also doing a lot of good. Something he probably enjoys. The guy seems to enjoy working.
If he was hit with an "edge" like injury, I could see him taking a role backstage and working with others and helping them develop their own characters in order to get better.
Lets say he doesn't get hurt. Triple H probably wouldn't let him wrestle full time. He understands that once Cena hits a certain age it would be much better for business for him to only wrestle a few times per year just like him. Every card HHH is on, buy rates go up. Well, probably not as much anymore. Cena will be in the current Flair position or someone backstage. Probably a hybrid

He's definitely going to go the legend route of making occasional appearances, but the question is what he does the rest of the time. He'd work well in developmental, I think so I'll assume they shove him there so he can get his wrestling fix while still being kept safe and contributing to the company.
