I was just thinking about how some months back there was a rumored Orton/Lesnar feud that people were complaining about as being a waste of Lesnar's potential opponent. Now, with Orton a heel and no possible feud with Lesnar in sight it seems silly how much people got worked up over it.

Daniel Bryan getting "fired". I guess it seems silly looking back but he was legitimately fired and spent the Summer working venues like the Taylor Town Trade Center before he was brought back for Summerslam.

Be that as it may, within a day or so of the announcement, Cena was making semi-kayfabed tweets about how he wanted Daniel Bryan back in WWE. And everyone should know Cena isn't going to say anything publicly unless it's towing the company line. There never should've been any doubt that Bryan would be back soon.

Speaking of Bryan, losing to Sheamus in 18 seconds.

HHH being on tv seems to upset a lot of people, for some reason.

Speaking of Bryan, losing to Sheamus in 18 seconds. I don't think that's a fair example. It's not like at the time anybody knew that those 18 seconds would suddenly make Bryan the most over wrestler in the company. Several people, myself included, bought that PPV partly on the basis of Bryan vs. Sheamus because those two had great in-ring chemistry, as Extreme Rules showed. And even if you thought Sheamus sucked, most people were expecting a MOTYC out of Bryan, and we got a shitty squash match - which especially infuriated me because it's the fourth or fifth time I've bought a PPV and then been handed a squash match for my trouble (Chavo/Kane, JBL/Mysterio, Christian/Regal, 18 seconds, and I'm sure there are others).

I thought this was way overblown at the time. I thought it was actually the perfect way for his reign to end. He'd become this totally cocky bastard, edging his way through title matches so him being so arrogant as to refuse to wrestle until he kissed AJ then getting pinned was brilliant. Any other venue or event, that would've been great. I think it really was the right idea, wrong time. They should have saved it for Big Show-Rhodes since Rhodes had been talking up how much of a Mania failure Show was so him KOing Rhodes in seconds would've felt very Warrior-HTM-like. But I do think the IWC went a bit too crazy hating it.

The Punk/HHH/Nash stuff. Not the quality of the angle itself, but just that everybody was raging how it ruined a new boom period that was going to happen apparently.

It certainly derailed whatever momentum Punk had coming off of his return, and was thus justified, imo, at least as justified as smarkrage can be.

People getting over upset about Michael Cole running down Daniel Bryan on NXT, as if the WWE Universe would start liking Cole and take him seriously as a judge of talent.

Punk losing to HHH, the guy took like 7 finishers and only lost because he helped HHH who then let him get powerbombed.
