I really hate the gimmick. It's like Undertaker if they didn't put across that he's this undead zombie, but some regular dude who likes the lights off during his entrance and wearing black and wrestling INTENSE.

Rubbish. Well that's what they are to me. I liked them at first but since Conor O'Brien went on his own and even now with his new partner I don't like them.

To answer your question I'm not quiet sure what they are supposed to be. I'll go with future jobbers though.

Just like what i said in the NXT thread, i can't take the gimmick seriously. The God Of War music and the yelling and posing. it's just hilarious to me.

I dig it ... I watched the early matches with Cameron and loved it, and even the latest match with Rick Victor I got into. I think the gimmick would do better in a Raw or SD arena than the tiny NXT arena.

I just find it funny that the Ascension gimmick has been on NXT for over a year, and so far its gone absolutely nowhere. At least with the Ministry back in 1999, they actually had the guts to do something with it (e.g. hanging Bossman, putting Austin on the cross, kidnapping Stephanie).

The Ascension are like two teenagers who want to follow in the Ministry's footsteps but don't have the balls to actually do anything. What's the worst thing they've done so far, looked at the camera in a menacing fashion? Ooooh!

My issue has always been that they are just First Name-Last Name guys with a supernaturalish gimmick. Can you imagine everything about The Undertaker stays exactly the same when debuts, except they just call him Dave Phillips? He loses all his mystique.

I did find it hilarious when looking up their history that this dark, mysterious brotherhood was founded by the higher power that is... Ricardo Rodriguez.

Imagine if they came to WWE and attacked Del Rio, ending with: "IT'S ME, ALBERTO! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG!"

Always amuses me that people moan about wrestling losing it's gimmicks, then we get gimmicks and the gimicks are too gimmicky that they cant be taken seriously.

I'm reminded of that Simposon's scene with Homer at the women's conference asking what women want after trying to give them options.
