With Orton facing Bryan, RVD probably facing ADR and The Shield occupied with Show and Henry, who does that leave Punk with? Assuming his fued with Paul Heyman continues into NOC, Who does he face? Axel? I mean I like Curtis but talk about a step down for Punk.
So FAN, who's it gonna be? Or does Punk simply sit this one out?

My guess would be Punk vs Axel and Heyman handicap match. Can't say I'm exactly stoked that this is the PPV they're bringing to Detroit (first one since Over the Limit 2010).

Axel for the ic belt. Punk is above the ic belt so I guess it will have some sort of screwy finish or Punk just kicks his ass and gets DQ'd

Hard to say. Punk has been the exception for the Night of Champions "Every match is a Title Match" thing. He fought Big Show several years back with no title at stake and 2 years ago he fought HHH with no title at stake.
So...who the hell knows.

They should do a Punk/Axel cage match with the stipulation being if Punk wins he gets Heyman alone in the cage.

Curtis Axel because didn't he challenge Punk recently? It is a big step down but it's something.

Heyman needs a new big threatening dude to battle Punk while Brock is off hunting elephants with his bare hands in the wilds of North Dakota.

Axel for the IC Title. Mostly because Brock won't be back until the Rumble I'm guessing. This is the problem with Lesnar's limited dates. The main draw in this feud was Lesnar vs Punk. And now that it's over and we've got to wait for a bigger stage for Lesnar vs Punk 2, Punk's sort of spinning his wheels with Heyman and Axel. And eventually that's going to be done too, probably after NOC.
But at the same time, it'll do wonders for the IC title. I'm guessing he wins the IC title, and kicks the crap out of Heyman and Axel. There's a big gap in main event faces now, but I still see Punk as a main eventer, actually defending the belt against heels and using his overness to help out guys like Fandango, Wyatt, Barrett, Ambrose, Cesaro, Sandow, etc. get some major exposure. Beating the number 2 babyface of the company for the IC will be more important than beating somebody like Kofi for it for the millionth time. It'll be a nice throwback to when the IC title meant something.

I don't like Axel at all, but I wouldn't mind seeing Punk/Axel at NOC, even if they throw Heyman in and make it a handicap.

I would honestly rather see Punk vs an upturned broom with a bucket for a head than Punk V Axel at NOC.
Or maybe him vs an invisible opponent.
But I guess if he wins and gets Heyman in the cage like Thug Chuckles said - that would be acceptable, just not that enticing.

Zack Ryder turns heel and joins up with Heyman to create Punk vs. Ryder for the Internet Championship.
Against all odds, Punk will make it work.

Ben Affleck.
Serious answer, maybe Curtis? Punk could add needed value to the IC Championship.
