I am the only person I know in the real world who still watches wrestling. Most people I know watch real (boring) sports or stopped watching when they hit puberty. As a result, people I know often ask me just HOW I can have a garbage show of a fake sport aimed at children take up a huge chunk of my life.
And if they ever happen to catch a bit, it's ALWAYS a Santino or Hornswoggle skit, or a terrible match with Tensai or something. They never see the good stuff, the stuff that keeps us all coming back week after week.
When my wife first moved in with me, she didn't watch wrestling. When I was watching she happened to pass by when Jericho was cutting a promo. Obvious eye candy factor aside, he's always entertaining and he had a match that night that won her over. She's been a fan for years now.
So in a perfect world if you could hope to convert every non believer, what would you show them? A certain match? A great promo? A surprising twist in a storyline?
Go.

To be honest, something like PWG is a great in road just for the pure athleticism. If they're impressed by that, then you can ease them into WWE.
That's what happened with my cohost who really fell out with WWE because of the family drama in the early 2000s

Savage vs. Warrior at Wrestlemania 7 and everything surrounding it. I don't think anything else could ever come close to showing why I love pro wrestling so much.
Then again, I'd probably also show them Repo Man, Papa Shango, and Sting meeting Robocop.

I did show the HBK/Angle match from Mania 21 to some buddies a few years ago and converted them totally. My girlfriend also watches wrestling. She first joined us in 2009 (Bragging Rights) and still watches every PPV with us.

In the WWE I'd say Punk vs Bryan at OTL 2012. No gimmicks just straight up wrestling. Outside of WWE I'd say Kobashi and Misawas match from Jan 2003. Completely changed the way I saw wrestling.

Hmmm, it seems to me good matches is the way to bring in non fans. ONE OF YOU SHAREHOLDERS TELL VINCE QUICK!

When it comes to matches I would show them a short, faced paced sprint. Preferably under 10 minutes with no rest holds featuring spots that would make them say Ron Simmons' catchphrase.

Big Show/Big Bossman feud. If someone doesn't enjoy that they can GTFO.

Hmm as a wrestling fan, I think I would show them
Orton vs Otunga Miracle on 34th Street match Smackdown Money in the Bank 2011 (which actually had my mother's interest one time I watched it in front of her, and she has hated wrestling since the moment I laid eyes on it) Rock vs Mankind Superbowl half time special

I always thought good wrestling brought in the "you know it's fake right? they're not really hitting each other." This has been my experience, too. I tend to roll in circles that love retro things and ultra cheezy horror/fantasy flicks, so when I show them something absurdly over-the-top like Jake Roberts training the Ultimate Warrior and "BURY ME, SNAKE MAN," it's instantly, "oh, I completely get why you dig this stuff." To show why I love the matches, I'd probably show something more contemporary like Cena/Punk or Cena/HBK from Raw, or Cena/Bryan from Summerslam. It's kind of crazy to think that for all of the flack he gets, Cena has easily been involved in most of the best matches from the last five years.

Some NXT stuff would be a good start.
Oddly enough, a Sin Cara match got one of my friends back into it. He knew I watched it, then saw on of Cara's random Superstars matches and started watching again. He's a massive CM Punk mark now, so I feel I've taught him well <__<
On the other end of the spectrum, my Best Friend from High School ended up getting into it after seeing one of King Booker's shouty promos with his weird accent, and ended up sticking around for the match and enjoying it.

As a matter of fact, I would probably go for one of the recent documentaries WWE has put out. Those work pretty well for anyone with a remotely open mind. They might not start watching, but their opinion on wrestling will probably change.

I showed my dad, who has mocked wrestling from the day I started watching it, that great clip of, I forget what it's called, a radio guy talking about his love of wrestling and how it's an art form etc (Dolph Ziggler is in it) and he grudgingly admitted that, yeah, they're very talented guys. He'd still never watch it though.

I usually get non-wrestling friends into wrestling with the extremely cheesy stuff. They like stuff like Kane's B-movie stuff and Sheamus' random dickery way more than serious storylines(and so do I, honestly). Like I showed one guy the Bryan promo where he decides his beard is like the representation of his integrity with the beard shirt and he was like "I will watch this guy fight for all the beards in the world and cheer him for it until he shaves that beard."
So far he has watched every episode and PPV with me.

Well my dad is a guy who normally thinks wrestling, mostly WWE to be "fake" and for kids. He hasn't really watched since the Attitude era but ever since Daniel Bryan has been featured so much in a big role he can't get enough of it. Episodes of Raw has got him chanting YES whenever he has a reason to celebrate.
I've also heard him utter "SAAAAWWWWFT" but that's a different story.
