I know a lot of the reasons behind it being banned (despite at Extreme Rules this year), but considering the fact that Orton's being booked to act like he can't get in trouble for anything he does, it would make sense for him to bring the punt back into his arsenal.

Hire Matt Hardy for a night so he can kick him in the appendix a few more times, with no bearing to the plot or anything, just Orton attacking Matt for no reason.
"If they were your grapes, you should have labeled them, Randy, it ain't gotta be like that!"

It was brutal and evil. That's what he needs to be.

No because in the world of running knees, super kicks and even the 2nd rope DDT there were better more devistating moves that one could buy as an injury causer then the boring punt

He should have punted Ted Di Biase out of the company.

He should at least tease it every once in awhile.

At the moment, I'd actually say no, because the Punt is associated with Orton being a ruthless badass, and his current persona seems to be more Shallow Corporate-Approved Pretty Boy.

No, purely because it brings back memories of that awful period when the New Nexus were steadily fed to him and punted ad nauseum.

Yes.
The punt has always been an instant death move. Would be cool to have Trips pedigree someone who disagrees with the New Corporation and Orton finish the job with the punt.

Only if they stop making it a career threatening move so that he may do it more often.
If Randy Orton is to be an effective heel, he needs to stop doing the RKO or performing the mannerisms that got him over as a face.
Yes, this means more headlocks and just walking into the ring with a super serious face.

Yes, this means more headlocks and just walking into the ring with a super serious face. Just have him do the punt to the ribs instead, and work the midsection for matches. That way he also gets around the ban, and it can just be a match ender.

^The crowd buys the punt. The crowd pops for the punt. They recognize it as a death move. It works. The crowd and I never see eye to eye about Orton. I never liked the punt and never bought it as death vs something like what the 2nd rope DDT should be.

He should have punted Ted Di Biase out of the company. He should have. Then the following week have the whole roster "mourning" Ted and when they all decide to rise up and fight the Corporation, their battle cry is "Let's Do It For Ted!!!!"

The crowd and I never see eye to eye about Orton. I never liked the punt and never bought it as death vs something like what the 2nd rope DDT should be. That's more a problem with modern wrestling in general. Barring a few exceptions, the DDT is just a regular move now. But this one is from the 2nd rope

He should punt Daniel Bryan.
DB will sell it like he's dead. A week later, they'll say that Daniel Bryan was severely injured and may never walk again. The Corporation will crow over it with false sincerity saying they sympathise with Daniel Bryan, but that kind of thing happens in wrestling, with a smirk on their faces.
WWE will show footage of DB in one of those head halos and a neck brace. He'll vow revenge and he'll say that he'll be back, and when he comes back, he's going to punt Randy Orton.
Orton's reaction will be terror. When Daniel Bryan comes back, he should wear some sort of hardened kick pad on one shin with a skull on it and say "Randy, this has your name on it, bitch!"
