So there's a great moment in WWE and it starts a great storyline, packed with twists and turns and...then it turns to shit. Obvious example? Following an amazing, Internet exploding promo from CM Punk that led to a superb title match between Punk and Cena that had Punk win the title..that then resulted in the inexplicable appearance of Kevin Nash who completely ruined the entire thing. That storyline jumped the shark. Any other examples? I could argue that it jumped when Punk came back 8 days after MITB. Served no purpose and from that point on, blew through a multitude of sudden storylines and sudden storyline stops (Nash texts Nash, no Nash/Punk match, walkout)

When Punk returned that quick I just sighed and shook my head. So disappointing. I was actually hoping WWE would have the balls to let him defend the belt on indy shows whilst pushing Rey or Cena as their own "paper" world champion before Punk finally returns.

When Triple H vs. Jericho feud at Wrestlemania X8 became Triple H vs. Stephanie McMahon rather then a simple logical revenge story. Hell of they were going to insert Stephanie in this make her makeout with Jericho

"It was ME, Austin, it was me all along!" Yeah, that moment basically took a giant dump on about 5 months of story lines

Since Summer of Punk is being brought up a lot, I'm going with Night of Champions as the shark jumping moment, mostly because I thought Nash could have been an interesting addition to the storyline given the history with HHH. Oh how wrong I was.
God that finish to HHH vs. Punk killed everything. They progressed the Nash storyline to where there was no drama in whether HHH would side with his whole friend. Nash's program with Punk was now DoA. And then they took Awesome Truth and made them look like morons when they came out to wreck everyone and cost HHH his position only to randomly save him a few minutes later.

How about the weird lack of heat for Steph giving Angle a low blow and siding with HHH in Sept. 2000? Every storyline point obviously seemed to lead to her hooking up with Angle. They built this over the entire year of 2000 and did...that. And the angle fizzled afterwards. I read somewhere, probably here, Triple H killed this storyline and what should have happened, Kurt and Steph together because "no one would believe he was stupid enough to not notice his wife in an affair" or some shit.

Kane unmasking and turning heel was awesome... for the two weeks he feuded with RVD. As soon as Shane got inserted into the storyline as the white knight and RVD got kicked to the curb, it was pure crap.

Reveal of the anonymous Raw GM. Was this really a "great" storyline? The Anonymous RAW GM was a largely neutral figure who bleeped, made announcements, but was otherwise a non-factor. And can we really assume that Hornswoggle was actually the RAW GM the entire time. As far as I'm concerned, he just managed to get his hands on a computer and send fake messages pretending to be the GM. It is consistent with the characters prankster nature to do so. And even if Michael Cole makes a throwaway comment saying that he was the GM the whole time, all that tells us is that it's what he believes, not that it's fact.

Kane/Shane McMahon was one of the best Kane related storylines of all time.

Kane/Shane McMahon was one of the best Kane related storylines of all time. Man, if they had done the electrocuting testicle segment with RVD in place of Shane, everyone in the arena would still be high ten years later.
