So there's a great moment in WWE and it starts a great storyline, packed with twists and turns and...then it turns to shit.
Obvious example? Following an amazing, Internet exploding promo from CM Punk that led to a superb title match between Punk and Cena that had Punk win the title..that then resulted in the inexplicable appearance of Kevin Nash who completely ruined the entire thing. That storyline jumped the shark.
Any other examples?

That time Big Show went to OVW and moonsaulted over a shark.

Rikishi being revealed as the driver
Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler going on past WM27
Randy Orton vs. Triple H in 2009 when Orton won the title at Backlash, only for HHH to return two months later and have a crappy 3 stages of hell match which nobody remembers.

Nexus storyline. When Cena joined the Nexus but WWE lacked the balls to actually have Barrett to force him to do much heelish or... even lacked the balls to have him wear Nexus gear rather than his own t-shirts.
Straight Edge Society - When they became Rey Mysterio's personal job squad.

That feud first jumped the shark when they agreed that Triple H couldn't touch Orton unless provoked, lest their match would be cancelled. Then Orton attacked Trips like the next night. Then they went back and jumped the shark again when Orton revealed his *cough* "MASTER PLAN." Involving his idea to take the belt away from Triple H that he developed all the way back when Trips wasn't even... the champion...

Cena showing up every week after being fired by The Nexus.
Especially since he was given so much time to make a farewell speech.

Cena showing up every week after being fired by The Nexus. Especially since he was given so much time to make a farewell speech. They shit the bed so many times with Nexus, it isn't even funny. But before those two events even happened, as bad as they were, the first shark was probably the Seven on Seven at SummerSlam '10. It wasn't bad enough that they blew their load early and had that match two months after they debuted, they had the Nexus take the fall in their first ever major match. On top of that (even if just because of poor time management) they had Cena take out the last two guys in almost rapidfire succession after being DDT'd onto concrete! That was the first nail in the coffin. Everything else (him no-selling being Nexus's slave, then no-selling being fired) was just another nail.

Straight Edge Society - When they became Rey Mysterio's personal job squad. I'd argue the shark jumping with the Nexus came when they decided to give Randy Orton the win in Wade Barrett's NXT title shot, and refused to let him lose it despite how much sense it would have made to let Barrett or even Cena have it.

Which is weird, considering that IIRC, Orton initially used his Rumble win to challenge for the World title so he WOULDN'T have to fight Hunter.

Eddie Guerrero slowly going insane over his inability to beat Rey Mysterio: awesome.
Eddie Guerrero revealing himself to be the biological father of Rey's son Dominic: blergh.

OK....let's go from Austin/McMahon on....
1. Austin/McMahon--Higher Power 2. Invasion--The second Stephanie was revealed as "the owner of ECW." 3. WWE NWO---The second they kicked Hogan out. 4. Nexus---Summerslam 2010....once they had Nexus get owned like that, yeah, they basically became comedic foils to Cena. They tried to kickstart it by bringing Punk in, but it was pretty much the same thing. They were jobbers being led by a rising star, nothing more. 5. Summer of Punk----Kevin Nash, Triple H becoming the focus.

Not sure it can be called "great" since it didn't have time to go anywhere, but the authority figure-less Raw is Anarchy was interesting for about a week or two, then they just announced Mike Adamle as the new GM.

How about the weird lack of heat for Steph giving Angle a low blow and siding with HHH in Sept. 2000? Every storyline point obviously seemed to lead to her hooking up with Angle. They built this over the entire year of 2000 and did...that. And the angle fizzled afterwards.

"Great" storyline may be a stretch, but I have to mention the time when Hornswaggle was revealed as Vince McMahon's son.
