What was the big deal about Blitzkrieg?
By the time I started watching his popularity had began to wane, but people mention him being amazing.

Parka was billed at 220..despite the inaccuracy that's the limit I thought? Oh well he was still mainly in the division. Evan karagious and super calo got votes before Juvi, Eddie or ultimo. Didn't see that coming. Well, with Eddie, he was a US title level contender for most of his WCW run so isn't really a name you associate with being a cruiser, same as Konnan and Disco. While they all could and did compete, it's not really what people remember about their runs. What was the big deal about Blitzkrieg? By the time I started watching his popularity had began to wane, but people mention him being amazing. He could do some amazing stuff and he left before he wore out his welcome, or got unmasked and turned into just another guy. He seemed like someone they had plans for, but left before he was put in any real storylines or feuds. It's one of those things in wrestling, and showbiz in general, people tend to speak fondly and overstate the greatness of guys who weren't around long enough for them to get sick of.

I thought Blitzkrieg got injured and just couldn't perform at that top level anymore, so he faded from the scene. I agree about Mysterio, there was NOBODY that could compare to Rey at that time.
But, as a fan of technical wrestling, Dean Malenko was my guy. He was the one that made the whole CW Division seem legit. He stayed grounded.
Kidman would probably be second. That guy was something else in 1998.

While I loved ol' Deano Machino, something about Ultimo, to me, stood out more than anyone else at the time.

So I'm gathering that Dean should have had a run on top of WWE?
The next two vote getters are HOF bound for sure.

I was a huge Jerichoholic back when he was running things in the Cruiserweight division.

Lash Leroux.
And I can't even really explain why. But when WWF bought WCW, it was him they didn't sign that left me most disappointed after the Invasion was over.

I don't think that's all that strange to be honest. Lash had a marketable, distinctive look, had the whole "Cajun" accent/persona, and was a good hand in the ring. He definitely could have caught on in the WWF.

Just saw La Parka get a TV Title shot vs. Booker T on a random old Nitro He may have never gotten a Cruiserweight title shot but hey...it's something.
