I'm pretty bored with it. Tonight was the night to have Big Show save DB, and instead they gave us all this crap about him being broke, blah blah blah. Stupid.

I'm loving it right now, I'm actually rooting for faces, booing heels, and looking forward to RAW.
The pop when D-Bryan finally gets help will be amazing (fired Cody Rhodes "buys a ticket" and does a run in?), all this Show stuff is likely a set up for him to go heel next week because he "has no choice".

I want Bryan to be left laying for another four weeks. Make this angle as bleak as possible and have Bryan still clinging to the job he loves so much. He never breaks, he only gets stronger. And then just when Bryan's glorious moment is at hand and he's got HHH in the ring...

My problem with this storyline is it's just god-awful writing. I can't help but shake my head when I see people here calling it genius.
Somehow they've gone from the focus of the story being on Bryan beating the corporate machine and becoming an Austin-level star to "Who is going to rebel against the regime?!" within a matter of weeks. Bryan shouldn't need help. When HHH finally "gets his", it should be solely at the hands of Daniel Bryan, not Big Show.
And why the hell would these babyfaces want to help him anyway? Why would they want to help anyone? If I'm Dolph Ziggler or The Miz or R-Truth or any other babyface who is forced to watch with a tortured look on their faces, I'm looking at this thinking, "great, they don't see Bryan as a champion? One less guy I have to worry about stepping over on my way to the top of the ladder."
The whole thing makes no damn sense. Bryan looks like an idiot. The babyfaces look even dumber. Orton is a lameduck champion. HHH is in every other damn segment. What in God's name is good about any of this?
And the worst part is, the big payoff of this whole thing is some HHH-Vince showdown. You all know it too, so why are you fooling yourselves into believing anything else?

It took five whole weeks for Trish Stratus to be victimized by Vince McMahon before he got his comeuppance at Wrestlemania 17. Meanwhile, almost 13 years later, a conflicted Big Show is supposed to fight back (even though his employment on the line) in exactly TWO weeks. Yeah. Doesn't make sense to me either.

I agree with you, but it doesn't help that today the WWE has so much programming, and so under utilizes the midcard that the main-eventers get more time than they should. For example, in 2001 when Trish was being victimized she'd be on TV for maybe 5-10 minutes a week. In the most extreme cases, 15 minutes. So even if she didn't get her own back one week, you could say to yourself 'hey, Vince didn't get his comeuppance, but hopefully he'll get it soon. Anyway, here's a cool segment/match featuring some guys I like so maybe it's not so bad.' And the reason why storylines lasted longer is because they actually found a creative and fun way of advancing storylines every week without it getting dull. Now, however, you have Big Show sitting at ringside for most of Smackdown last week, and last night he had the segment with Stephanie, he wrestled in the main event and had that long, drawn out after-segment which lasted at-least 10 minutes. It was drawn out, it was boring, it was nothing like what happened 10-15 years ago because now some people are thinking 'for gods sakes this is boring, just end it and move on'. It wouldn't be so bad if there was other cool stuff going on, but this corporate storyline has engulfed the entire product - the amount of time Orton and the McMahon's are getting is insane, they must take up atleast 20-25% of the air time alone.

I like how Bryan is so weak that Big Show destroyed him easily and had to be forced to hit him with his finisher because he was scared he was going to kill him. That's a great way to book your number #1 contender!
This show sucks.

I kind of hope this all builds up to a WWE Civil War for power. I'd like to see the locker rom revolt happen at Night of Champions when all the stars interfere in the title match and attack Orton, HHH, he'll, even have some divas attack Stephanie. Basically, what the "vote of non-confidence" deal should have accomplished. I still love about 80% of this storyline. It feels like there's a ton more life in the shows now than there was before Bryan's push got started. I hate to generalize but I'm almost certain that there are people here upset that Daniel Bryan keeps getting beaten up that were out of their minds during Cena's time at the top. I feel like the complaint that Daniel Bryan keeps getting beat up creates a real paradox of "well what do you want then?". The storyline is progressing even though we keep getting the same ending, the Cody Rhodes story falls into it, the Big Show thing even though it was dumb, was progress. People compare this to Austin 3:16 but this isn't Austin 3:16 shouldn't try to be. Austin made his name by being a wild card ass kicker that's a threat to be around whether it's in the ring or on the streets and his push followed that. Daniel Bryan is a wrestler's wrestler who made his name by kicking ass in the ring, becoming a star in a place where he had no right getting as popular as he is, and his push is based on that. I like that they're taking their time with this, I get peoples' frustrations with shows ending the same way every week, but for me it's just been so long since WWE has lined up babyfaces that I can't wait to see get one over on heels that I can't wait to see get their comeuppance. The Cody Rhodes stuff was fantastic, like, goosebumps worthy fantastic. I really enjoyed Triple H goading Big Show into punching Bryan, though we had to sit through some absurdly dumb stuff to get there. That's where my problems lie, the overall package I love, I think the storyline has made shows from top to bottom a whole lot better. But there are little things, Big Show's plight is a continuity nightmare. I don't like how as much as they're using this Bryan angle to enhance guys that need a boost, they still do stuff like lugging the entire roster out to watch Daniel Bryan's match, and having the entire roster react the exact same way. Cameras don't even really look at them so they might as well be anywhere. But they've been more on point with this for a longer time than any other major angle of the past few years. I'm not saying it's jumped the shark yet. This sums up how I feel perfectly. I have to admit though, I'm dreading watching the new RAW next week - just from a storyline standpoint. Im anxious to see what's gonna happen with Daniel next.

HHH hasn't had sex with a mannequin/corpse yet, so we're haven't reached the lowest of lows quite yet. The key word being "yet".

Big Show going on and on like it was the end of the world that he had to wrestle his "friend" Daniel Bryan was silly. Bryan pinned the company's Alpha Male just a month ago. He's beaten Show. The guy isn't a charity case.

I can't help but feel like a lot of people in this thread declaring this "THE WORST STORYLINE EVER" or whatever else will be the ones that mark the hardest when Bryan finally gets the title from Orton. If you were ever tired of Cena's superman booking, this is actual underdog booking and I'm loving it because I know it will pay off hard later. Not even Triple H is stupid enough to have Bryan not prevail after all this.

That's my issue with it too. Last night we had the opening segment for 20 minutes, several backstage McMahon-Helmsley segments, HHH firing Cody, Steph having a chat with The Big Show in the ring, Daniel Bryan having a chat with Big Show in the locker-room and the plodding final segment. An issue made worse by Punk's rambling promo. Then to make things worse they recap all those segments plus whatever happened last week. Maybe that's a natural consequence of three hour Raws but it just seems to go on and on forever, most of those segments could have been done in half the time and in some cases cut completely. That's before you get to the other issues, many caused by WWE's own past, it's a shame as there's a good story in there trying to get out, just a few little tweaks and it would be fine. I may as well throw in some fantasy booking, during that last segment have Bryan duck so Big Show hits Roman Reigns, then you have the added mystery of who Big Show meant to knock-out and Bryan doesn't look so much of a chump.

The Big Show is poor stuff was bad (just like it was when Shawn Michaels was poor), and personally I like Bomber's suggestion of what they should have done. Otherwise, I don't have a problem with what they are doing with Bryan. Bryan's determination/obsession to prove to everybody that he is the best (not the weak link) is what got him so over earlier this year. He constantly went out to the ring blinded by his desire to prove himself that he'd slip on the proverbial banana peel after going insane in the ring for spurts. The last 2 Raws you could hear the fans begging for somebody to help Bryan, they were ready to erupt.
Now I think they need to do a better job showing other roster members struggling with whether or not to help Daniel Bryan. Maybe have one finally decide to go down to the ring only to be cut off by the Shield.
I mean in a lot of ways this is being built like Sting/WCW vs the nWo. WCW guys were made to look like chumps for a long stretch at the beginning of the angle, but when they finally got a moment? Huge pop (DDP giving Hall the Diamond Cutter, Sting in the War Games match, Luger winning the title, Sting finally attacking the nWo, Giant standing up to Hogan).
I just have to reiterate that I think too many people are/were expecting Bryan to be the Austin to Triple H's Vince when if anything he's Mick Foley. Yeah Foley got some wins and got one over here and there, but he got the crap kicked out of him pretty much the entire angle. Hell, Foley as WWF champ got the crap kicked out of him by Mable on Sunday Night Heat so he'd be weak for Rock.
