These are damn depressing times for the white hats of WWE. Everyone in a position of power is corrupt and ruling with an iron fist. All the championships are held within the rogues gallery. The one man that usually saves the day is hurt and not around, along with his non-union Irish equivalent, and another that could have been relied on is now the crown jewel of the enemy faction. Those who show any semblance of rebellion are beaten down constantly or blackmailed into falling into line. Jobs are on the line, and there is seemingly no hope on the horizon.
In a company that usually has the face standing tall most of the time in rivalries, this is a real culture shock for many of us. So I ask... has it ever been this bad to be a good guy in WWE?
The only times I can really think of it being this bleak is when Austin and Triple H were running things as the Two Man Power Trip or when Evolution were strong in 2003-2004. Let's see what you guys have got (and probably show me as forgetful in the process).

2000 at the heights of the original McMahon Helmsley era, No Way Out in particular.

Bleak and repetitive. We're five shows into this storyline and they've all ended the EXACT SAME WAY.
Its definitely bleak though, its an interesting change of pace for the show, but I don't think it needs to be company wide like it is now. If it were just the main storyline, then I'd be cool with it, but it affects nearly EVERY part of the show.
But yeah, I'm ready for the good guys to rally OR the bad guys to get fresh tactics.

It's funny because I'm currently making my way through Raw episodes from back in 2000, and even though the McMahon/Hemsley era was in charge and dominating the show, it wasn't nearly as bleak and dull as it is now.
Atleast when HHH was champion you had Rock tearing them a new one every week on the mic, the trials and tribulations of Mick Foley, and of course the midcard which was filled with wacky and fun gimmicks. The Hardcore Championship, Too Cool, goofy Kurt Angle, Godfather, hell even the Mae Young/Mark Henry fiasco got a laugh out of me.
Nowadays however you have these super serious segments involving the new corporation and Daniel Bryan, which has resulted in DB getting beaten down for five shows in a row. Elsewhere on the show you have CM Punk cutting serious promos, people getting fired, Paul Heyman acting scared for his life, a divas division which is trying and failing to be taken seriously, and in the middle of that you have a rather boring and dull midcard which consists of people like Curtis Axel and Ryback who have virtually no charisma. The only midcard acts which I actually find 'fun' are Fandango, Tonnes of Funk and PTP. Everyone else just bores me.
Wrestling is supposed to be fun - I don't mind the corporation storyline, as long as the rest of the show doesn't take itself so seriously, but that's not happening.

Not in a long time, and that's why I like it.
