I actually liked Frank's dream sequence it was simple but hilarious.
My favorite was Charlie's Up inspired one.

I liked Frank's fantasy, too. It was obvious someone was going to get a short sequence and that was a hilarious way to do it.

Just got around to watching this. I thought it was great. It was simple, yet it shows how simple the characters are. Each one of them has ADHD with the exception of maybe Frank, who is just selfish. In each case, they just used the holdup as a means to fantasize about things they want out of life. While it pretty much means that Mac is gay, it also proves that Dennis is a sociopath.
The very fact that Charlie's was a goddamn Disney cartoon was great.
And I love that Frank rather eat hot dogs while his children and friends get murdered than helping them out.

I absolutely expected Frank to get the short yet sweet dream.
And I really have to say that I'm impressed Dennis' sequence was the only one in which Dee wasn't killed.

Was it just my cable, or was FXX badly out of audio synch last night? I actually couldn't watch Sunny (will catch it On Demand) because of it.....

Hairless/sanitizered up/nearly naked Frank is definitely something I will never unsee.

I don't believe Dee was there when Dennis woke up from his coma. I did notice that, which makes me wonder if they just cut out her (obligatory) death scene. Still.......it kinda stands that Dennis didn't "kill her", which just changes everthing. Or nothing.

Last episode was fairly good. I really liked their rendition of Boyz II Men's Motownphilly. I'm not a huge fan of the satire episodes as much.

I thought it was a good episode, not as good as their last few but still a nice enough episode with a few really good bits - notably the overall resolution that the gang are alcoholics, which was nice to see acknowledged. Season 9 has been a lot of fun so far, hopefully that shall continue

Season 9 has been a lot of fun so far, hopefully that shall continue For being the 9th season there has been a lot of character stuff going on. A lot of looks in to their inner works. Lots of shows have hit a groove and don't move at this point. I think the shorter seasons helps them in that area.

Loved loved loved The Gang Saves the Day. They took a predictable formula and made it great. It felt like each actor wrote their own character's dream sequence, they're so inside the characters at this point. I can't get enough of increasingly insane, sociopathic serial killer? Dennis. Going with the animation for Charlie's sequence was a brilliant touch, it made it more heartwarming AND creepier all at once.
Quarantined was even better. For a Boyz II Men fan like myself, it couldn't be bad. Seems like Dennis is the biggest alcoholic of the bunch, then Dee, then Mac, then Charlie. Charlie might just be more immune to addiction because of all the chemicals he's ingested. Couldn't tell with Frank, he was likely suffering withdrawl too but he had the added paranoia of being old and feeble, so his obsessesion with cleanliness may have overtaken the alcoholism.
This season is so much better than the last one, I thought after 8 that the show had run it's course. It might be the best since season 4. Here's hoping they keep it going for a long time and keep up the quality.

....I know that's probably a bald cap and makeup to hide his hair, but I would love Danny DeVito so much more if he actually did shave all his hair off for that episode.
We'll see this week, I guess?
