Now that I'm officially going to New Orleans for Wrestlemania weekend (thur-mon) I'm wondering if any members are from there.
What sights and experiences can you recommend me trying to squeeze in between Axxess, WM and HOF?
What places are unsafe and to be avoided?
I'm at a Super 8 motel outside of town, should I stick to taxi's or are buses safe?
How much money is recommended pr day for a New Orleans visit, especially considered it's WM weekend?
Any other safety tips (sorry to any locals if I sound paranoid)?
It's never been a city I've had a strong desire to go to but not that I'm going I'm super stoked.

I was in New Orleans about two years ago and it didn't seem expensive and it more or less seemed as safe as any other city.
Amazing local food. You can eat great stuff down there at good prices. I still have vivid dreams of an oyster po'boy I got from a literal shack that tasted like heaven.

You can see where they filmed, "The Chaperone".

I went two months ago. I'll just make a list it's easier, some of this is a bit touristy.
Things to see/do Audubon Zoo/Aquarium/Insectnarium French Quarter/Jackson Sqaure/French Market Bourbon st. Ghost Tour Swamp Tour Mardi Gras World
Things to eat and where to eat: Dat Dog Central Grocery (Muffeletta) Cafe Du Monde Luizzas (Shimp Po Boy) Abita Beer
Things to ride: The Ferry (it's free!) Bike Taxi Streetcars

Apparently there's a bar, La Bon Temps Roule, that's owned by Pepper Keenan of Corrosion Of Conformity & Down fame. From the reviews I've read it seems like quite a nice place.
Something I'd definitely check out were I in New Orleans.

Seeing as you're gonna be there for Mania it's pretty much a guarantee the quarter is gonna be packed as shit. Chain wallets may not be fashionable but they are practical.

I still can't believe that they're doing Mania and then the next nights Raw in New Orleans, the entire roster is going to be hammered as all hell. There will be some DUI's that week.
I've never done the ghost tour but it looks pretty cool if you're into that type of thing.
