I don't know if it was cheating in that match Yeah, I don't think that's cheating. Helen didn't have to listen to his pleas. I think it is a point worth debating. While it certainly wasn't crystal clear clean win for Backlund you are both right in that Backlund himself didn't actually cheat. Well, unless he was in cahoots with Owen.

Steamboat's win at WM 3 was not clean. Savage had the match won after the elbow drop with the ref down, and then George Steele pushed Savage off the ropes just before the finish.
Steamboat should be disqualified from this list.

Can anyone think of any exceptions for him?

Even if convincing Helen to throw in the towel wasn't cheating, Owen still ran into the ran and clotheslined Bret from behind while Bret had Backlund in the sharpshooter. Funny business with the towel aside, that's still not a clean win.
