Just looking up Mr Kennedy's history on Wikipedia and I'm really surprised that, after four years being signed to the company, the only gold Kennedy had was the US title - for a month.
I could've sworn he had way more than that. Just figured he was always a fairly prominent figure in WWE and always pretty over as well, so to only have one month of mid-card gold in four years? Surprising.

He was on the main roster for three and a half years and spent about half of that injured. Not surprising he didn't win many titles.

I was always worried the WWE weren't letting him show himself. Then he went to TNA and I realised why.
Having said that, a bit of better luck and he'd have cashed in to win a title and been part of a huge power struggle.

Kennedy was over like rover for a long time, as a lot of people like to forget right now. But he basically was immediately over enough to feud with Taker, and it wasn't long before he won MITB. They kept trying to push him and he kept getting injured. The company and we as fans are lucky he didn't get hot shotted something since he ended up out the door.

I think they had bigger plans for him than holding the midcard titles.

Well he's been injury free for a while. If they weren't so stacked with talent I'd say bring him back.

I was a big fan of Kennedy in 07. He was like my new X-Pac. I had stopped watching around 03ish and I started to catch glimpses of stuff in 05/06 when Id get up early every sunday to play for my football team (soccer) and Smackdown's highlight show would be on I guess. Kennedy stood out to me and when I got back into it proper in 07 I was very excited for his push. That Raw he came out to do the promo about cashing in MITB at WM, the pop when his music hits is amazing. I was naturally very pissed off to see him lose the briefcase then soon after and even though I tried to enjoy his return later it was never the same.

In his first 2 years he was pretty much in a state of being far above midcard titles and just under the WHC, hence the oft spouted commentary line of "has beatem 5/6 World Champions in his debut year!"
They were building to something, sadly injuries and backstage stuff and the illegal drug use got out and, well yeah.
A pity, I really liked Kennedy in ring and out, hell, I still like Anderson in TNA, but what could have been...

Kennedy was one of the reasons I bought Smackdown vs. Raw '07. Wrestling him in that game as fun as hell.

He was going to be World Champion, dammit.... but then he got injured right after Taker did.

Hated him. Not in a positive way either. Hated everything about the guy. Glad when he left.

Didn't Cena injure HIMSELF in a match that just happened to be with Kennedy? I remember it always being Cena f***ed up on a hiptoss or something. Then again it MAY have been overexaggerated revisionist history from Cena haters.

He didn't deserve that title either.
