I was just thinking about the nuumber of times Bryan has been left laying recently, compared to Cena and then I got to wondering how often Cena had actually been in a similar position to this?
When Nexus debuted he was beat down. And he's been beat down multiple times by the Shield. When he fought off the Shield he had help. And most of the time when he fought Nexus he took down one member at a time.
I don't think Cena has been in many situations where he's been attacked by a group outside of a match and he fought everyone off. He's been at a disadvantage numberwise in matches, but it's been situations where he could win or even the odds by hitting his finisher and getting a pin.

Last beatdown Cena took was when Mark Henry split his wig. Cena is rarely put in spots where he appears weak and vulnerable.

Doesn't happen often with Cena, and even if it does, booking compels him to either recover too quickly from it, or show up a week later smiling and joking, thus marginalising the impact of the beatdown.

Bryan sells the fact that they are trying to keep him down, and may laugh at their cowardice and the lengths they are going to stack the odds against him. Cena on the other hand plays it like a comedy act. Rarely if ever shows any indication of being threatened. Always goofing around.

My main problem with Bryan right now is he's still all smiles and jokes. You had your title stolen, you're getting "forced down the card" (kayfabe) and you're getting destroyed by the Shield every week, but you still come out cracking wise every week?

I honestly think he'll "snap", so to speak, when HHH screws him out of the WWE Title at Night of Champions.

Cena gets beat down extremely easy if the bell hasn't rung. Even in 1 on 1 situations.
Axel could hit Cena with his facebuster finisher thing and it'd lay him out for like 10 minutes, long as it was during a promo segment.

I think anger is pro wrestling these days just comes across as fake or people trying to hard. I like the laughter because I can easily imagine the guys doing thinking about what they're going to do to their opponent while they're smiling and laughing

I misread the title as beardown attacks.
John Cena vs. Kimo the Kodiak Bear at Wrestlemania 30. Make it happen, Vince.
