He's one of those guys who I think COULD have been huge, but the fault for him never breaking out seems to be on his own shoulders, and also probably on WCW for not using him properly. He had plenty of things in his favor; he was charismatic and could get over with the audience when he wanted to, he had a great look with his flashy ring attire and muscular physique, and he was a fairly steady hand in the ring, albeit no mat technician. But the guy was just a total dick backstage and never seemed willing to act mature and professional. A little patience and prudence might have gone a long way toward making him a star. But I feel safe in saying WCW didn't book him to his full potential either, especially when he came back from his neck injury; he should have been made out to be an underdog who overcame tremendous odds to get back in the ring. Instead he was really just Scott Steiner's lackey in the NWO. And they never really put him into any significant story or feud. I could have seen him doing programs with Booker T, Benoit, DDP, or plenty of others, but instead he just floundered in the midcard with guys like Disco Inferno or Ernest Miller. But ultimately yeah, he has no one to blame but himself for getting in the management's bad graces.

WCW had 2 chances: 1) when he came back from his neck injury and 2 during the young vs old feud in 99

No, she shouldn't even have been tag champion.
Oh, Buff? I think it's better that he wasn't World Champ.

He was legit one of the most annoying human beings alive back then. So glad he didn't.

Even when I first started watching wrestling and I saw Buff Bagwell wrestle, all I could think was, "God, people this THIS GUY is the future of wrestling?" I never bought him as the face of the younger generation of wrestlers. Then again, I figured guys like Raven and Kidman were, so what do I know?

Had he come up in the WWF, then I think Vince would have pushed him quite hard.

He had a decent look and his personality definitely shown during the Buff gimmick. But I think he was exactly where he was supposed to be on the card.

Had he come up in the WWF, then I think Vince would have pushed him quite hard. Until he disrespected, interrupted, and showed he thought he knew more about wrestling than Pat Patterson. So basically till his 1st match.

Yes, without a doubt. If WCW would've booked things properly, he could've been the number two face behind Goldberg in 1999.
He was a better worker than people give him credit for. Was he as good as Guerrero, Benoit, Malenko, Mysterio, Kidman, etc, no? However, he was good enough, and in the ring with the right guys, could've delivered. He had an awesome look, and was money with women and even little kids. Buff is the Stuff merchandise could've been branded. Hell, they could've sold those Dr. Seuss type hats he wore.
I'm being serious about this too. Goldberg, Bagwell, DDP, Booker T, Kidman, and Mysterio could've easily been the big "regular" draws for WCW, with Nash, Hogan, Sting and Flair in roles similar to Undertaker and Triple H in current WWE.

I dunno. You'd have to ask his mom to see if that would've been allowed.

I have seen pics but cannot find them right now, but doesn't he show up for Indy bookings with replica titles of the WWE and WCW world championships calming to be a world champ?

If they had switched him to face after when he came back after the injury, he could have been in the upper-echelon of faces. I could see him getting a transitional run with the belt in '99 if they kept him as a face.

Buff was the douchiest douche that ever douched. The day that the APA beat his ass should be a national holiday. So, no,

Buff Bagwell could have been a main eventer if it wasn't for the bad booking. Bagwell was with WCW since '91 and was a very talented performer with loads of charisma, despite the negatives he's now known for. If he would have turned face after his neck injury and took on the nWo, he could have been at least a fringe member of the main event. It would have been natural because the fans were really behind him and wanted to cheer for him before he swerved everyone and went right back to the nWo for no reason.

He was about the clearest case of X-Pac heat there is, aside from X-Pac himself, so no.

Hell no. Dude was like a walking Spencer's gift shop on steroids, which is definitely alright as long as you're under the age of sixteen, and minus the steroids.

Back in the late 90's, I knew a girl who was obsessed with Buff and Triple H. When she got pregnant, she was always trying to decide which one to name the baby after...
She ended up naming him Hunter. I think she chose wisely...

Not bloody likely.
Plus that stupid top hat he always wore looked like a ribbed condom on his head.
