Daniel Bryan and folk/punk singer Frank Turner have talked about hooking up to do a duet (Bryan has said he wanted Turner to do his theme) - now Bryan offered Turner to show up to the WWE house show in London in November to perform a duet live, but Turner's on tour in the States then. I like how Bryan gets NME coverage now. www.nme.com/news/frank-turner/72657

So a member of The Jesus And Mary Chain does Bray Wyatts theme.
Bryan wants Frank Turner to do his theme.
Wade Barrett wants the Manics.
Whats next Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine doing Kanes theme? or Perhaps Biffy Clyro will do Brodus Clays new theme? or lets have The Wildhearts do The Undertakers theme

For a split second I read this as "Daniel Bryan wants to duet with Frank Ocean".

Either way, I'd mark.

Now where is that Manic Street Preachers theme song for Barrett? That's still about 5 or 6 themes away, I think.

Eff Yeah! I love Frank Turner. Glad to know Daniel Bryan agrees (though I knew about that for a while).

In ten years when Vince learns about the folk revival, maybe it will work.

Frank Turner is great. Daniel Bryan is great.
In conclusion, this will never happen.

Now where is that Manic Street Preachers theme song for Barrett? Not happening due to several things: a) Sony would want a massively significant amount of money from WWE for every purchase of it on iTunes/Amazon/whatever else. b) The Manix would actually have to get out of their performing pattern/release pattern to focus on producing something distinctly hooky (Rewind The Film -their latest album- is distinctly repetitive and indistinct due to a lack of riffs and beyond basic melodies) as, well, good themes need 20 seconds of distinct music that loops in general, then a distinct break. For JDB that'd be pretty foreign these days. c) If the above two factors weren't a problem the WWE would then have to edit, see what works, and have the final word on it, so it'd be less of a Manix song and more of a "Jim Johnston got the song, told the Manix to do this as per office demands and changed the structure and instrumentation, then Jim mixed it himself before handing it over to the band again to re-record". Then again they ripped off David Axelrod wholesale on one song on their latest album, so maybe that wouldn't be a big problem... It was an exciting prospect for all us Manix fans, but when you have Sony vs WWE in profit terms and in control wars, well, it's not happening for years if it ever does. Would be very cool to see D-Bry have a performance with Frank though, just as an additional voice on a track or live song. Much more realistic.

Much more realistic. Ah I won't bother with it, I didn't bother with the last album either as I heard a single from it in a taxi and it sounded really bland. Was Richie a wrestling fan? there's a lyric on Journal For Plagued lovers about Giant Haystacks I think backing vocals is a good call, he sings backing vocals on a track on the last Kimya Dawson album about Captain Lou, when I found out it was Bryan I was really surprised.

According to the more old school CoR types I'm friends with (Nicky/Richey girls from the first two and a half album tours) he wasn't a fan beyond knowing of World of Sports and reading about showmanship which translated to boxing and promotion & financial gain & distractions against tragedy. Which all ties in with the Me and Stephen Hawking lyric you mentioned - "African Punch & Judy show at half the price/A hundred thousand watch Giant Haystacks in a Bombay fight".
