Honestly, I don't like the match that much. It certainly has its moments, particularly the ending motions, but I think a significant chunk of it in the middle is very boring with a lot of meaningless offense that goes nowhere and just pads the length out because outside of the ending they didn't have any actual ideas for it. It is still pretty far and away the best Punk / Cena match though, since it's really about their only encounter (that I've seen, didn't see the Raw match from this year or the Night of Champions one) that I find watchable, but still. And it kind of has a problem I have with a lot of Punk matches, where win or lose he never looks like a threat; even in his big moment, every step of the match Cena basically has his number.

Out of curiosity, Lizuka, what DO you like? A bunch of your posts include you saying "I never cared for ...." That you're saying this for a match that's universally loved has me scratching my head. No disrespect; I'm just really curious about what you look for in professional wrestling.

They have posted other entire matches recently. I guess they realize it's going to be on youtube, anyway. They might as well have the highest quality version on there so that they can make money off of it.

No disrespect; I'm just really curious about what you look for in professional wrestling. I can think of plenty; offhand, there are a lot of Cena matches I like a lot (Last Man Standing with Umaga, the match with Bryan, the SummerSlam match with Batista, and some of them with Edge offhand, though there are certainly plenty of others). I think I just have different tastes from the norm. I will readily grant I might be sort of biased against it just on the basis that I do not remotely like CM Punk; really the only match of his I can think of I do think is great is the one with Lesnar. I'm not sure what I'd really say I look for though, exactly. I can plenty think of people of different styles I'm a huge fan of, just I sort of like who I like I guess. Offhand, I do know probably part of why I don't like most of Punk's matches is just that I'm really not much of a submission guy; there isn't much of a quicker way to bore me than to just have two guys rolling around on the ground trading holds for a half hour, which is probably why I find MMA to be pretty much the most boring thing on the planet with the possible exception of NCIS or Skyward Sword. Though outside of that I've also kind of always had the issue with Punk that a lot of what he does doesn't really have much of a rhyme or reason for it outside of him thinking a given move looks cool. Like, why does a guy whose offense is mostly built around kicks and submissions use a Mongolian chop? Yeah. I dunno, I think I favor brawls, though as said, I like a little of everything, just depending. I don't think the match is terrible, mind you; that is how I would describe a few of Punk and Cena's matches, but I think the Money in the Bank one is perfectly watchable and it does have its moments, and I've seen a whole hell of a lot worse. But nah, no offense taken. I do get offended when people do just write me off as never having anything good to say, but asking why I hold a position or whatever, I'm perfectly fine with that. I do realize with how often I go against the grain I probably do come off as unpleasable, though lately I've been trying to be a little more complimentary.

Best match ever. Finally a way to watch it on YouTube without the mirrored picture or muted sound or whatever else was used to avoid copyrights. Great news.

It's probably because you often talk about how you don't like Punk matches, but then mention that you've only seen about three in the past year.

Again, no disrespect meant. Cheers!

It's probably because you often talk about how you don't like Punk matches, but then mention that you've only seen about three in the past year. Actually, outside of the match with Jericho and the rematch with Rock I've seen all of his PPV stuff this year - and really, while I think it was Taker's worst Mania match since 22, I still think the one at Mania was a perfectly fine match, it mostly just had ridiculously high standards to live up to with the sort of work Taker's been putting in and it didn't manage to do it (and incidentally I like the Henry / Taker match), and as said I loved the Lesnar one. Plus the problems with the Rock match were certainly not on Punk, and while I think Cena is a better performer than Punk is, Punk dragged Rock to a far better match than either of the ones Rock and Cena have had. Plus the guy has been on the roster since 2006, he's sort of left a healthy body of work for me to judge him on at this point. I think the big thing with Punk is just that he's kind of consistently disappointing for me - the matches with Taker were largely terrible, never particularly liked his work with Jericho (okay, didn't see the one this year or the Extreme Rules one, but I mean their Mania one, matches on Raw... The guys have had like at least twenty televised matches), the Jeff Hardy TLC match I remember being really hyped for despite not liking the feud itself only to really find that to honestly be boring and, as is kind of typical with Punk, pretty one-sided... I haven't seen the Over the Limit match with Bryan but I liked their TV matches with each other a lot, though on the flip side I thought their Money in the Bank match was one of the most boring I've seen in recent years... I can certainly think of a few Punk matches I do like, and as mentioned I loved the Lesnar match, but in large part I just don't enjoy him in the ring or on the mic. Though I will grant he is funny when he's allowed to be. I liked him a lot as a commentator and his feud with Big Show that mostly consisted of them being smartasses to each other was pretty fun.

Phenomenal match. I have this on Punks DVD and the MITB 2011 DVD.

I really wish WWE would do more stuff like this on the YouTube channel. Anyone that's wanted to pay to see Cena vs. Punk MITB already has, so they may as well promote the channel a little bit more.

One of my all-time favourite WWE matches ever. It told a fantastic story, in and outside the ring. That Punk reaction is just incredible.

Hell, despite my problems with the match, even I own a copy of it. I downloaded it a few months ago on my 360 when I had some spare points to see if my opinion changed on rewatching it. So yeah, anyone who has any intentions of paying for this match probably has by now.

They've uploaded a few full matches onto their channel today. I hope we'll more uploaded every week. Smart move for WWE, giving us access to full matches like this (i just watched Punk V Jericho from Wrestlemania), at least we get to see them as they were intended. I don't mind that they're 720 and not 1080 (if i want full HD, i should be going out and buying the blu ray) but this is still very cool.

A phenomenal match, and brain-meltingly it's not even the best one these two have had.

I would say the punk/cena mitb is really only good if you're into the crowd reactions. Not that it's a bad match, but the crowd is what makes it notable. The raw one where Cena won is easily the best match they've had and worth watching just for it being a good match.

You had to be there all four weeks to really "get" this match.
The feeling of the unknown combined with the anxiety of tomorrow.
Is Punk's contract actually up? How far will they go with this? Will Punk actually head to ROH and New Japan with the title and play it up for months?
Punk's original shoot is one of the greatest moments in RAW history and spoke an insurmountable amount of truth.
The Punk promo with "do I have everybody's attention now?" caught everybody's attention to his "pipe bombs" as a lead-in to the final segment. Punk spoke right to Vince with all of his transgressions and demanded respect from the CEO himself. Only one word: balls.
And finally, as we wait in Chicago, watching and anticipating, we hear the guitar blast. Out comes Punk with a new t-shirt proclaiming what we all believe to be true. People in the crowd show their support with both those shirts, and the infamous "You Can't See Me."
When the bell finally rang, it was like clockwork.
While the match isn't the, if I may, best in the world, it certainly deserves any and all acclaim.
The emotion that was felt when Punk nailed that GTS and Scott Armstrong counted to three was absolutely, 100 percent real.
As Punk chased off Del Rio, gave Vince one final kiss goodbye, and bolted through the crowd and out of the AllState Arena, the moment of tomorrow became forefront. Our Batman had beaten the Superman. We have found its kryptonite.
And even today, having known what would happen in the following months, Punk remains that kryptonite to Cena. All of their matches are phenomenal, and the Superman has only overcome the kryptonite one time (without support, at least).

Eh, Pynk is the most overrated guy since... I dont even know, while Cena is the lethal dose of poison Vince was talking abiut during the Invasion only it took a little longer. Crowd was great but between big Johnny and the contract 'running out' this was pathetically predictable. 2.4/10
