Eh, Pynk is the most overrated guy since... I dont even know, while Cena is the lethal dose of poison Vince was talking abiut during the Invasion only it took a little longer. Crowd was great but between big Johnny and the contract 'running out' this was pathetically predictable. 2.4/10 Except it wasn't. At the time, nobody knew what the hell was going on because they blurred the line with the internet fans from kayfabe and reality so well.

Instead I bet that money with extra and made a killing that night.

I was there, and it was awesome. I know I never thought they would pull the trigger and actually have Punk win and walk out with the title, but it was an amazing feeling that night. This was also the night Daniel Bryan won Money in the Bank, which is another thing I never thought would happen, and it was also awesome. I just wish I would have bought one of Punk's BitW shirts that night because it was a special Chicago/Money in the Bank edition different from what they ended up selling later. They ended up going for like $200 on eBay the following week.

Know what I love about this match? Holds! Wrestling holds! Not obligatory mat stuff to get to the cool stuff, not rapid-fire exchanges and stand-off to get a pop. They wrestled a god damn match, integrating it with the high-spots, and it was awesome. At the time, it was simply a rare thing in WWE.

This match came up in a recent thread right after I had rewatched both this match and the 2/25 RAW one. Like I said in that thread, the MITB one is obviously going to go down as an all-time classic with an insanely hot crowd and tons of historical significance, but I really don't see it as a 5 star match like most others do. On the other hand, I think the RAW one is absolutely amazing and one of my favorite matches from recent years.
I don't know if this is blasphemous to say, but I think if both matches are watched back-to-back, the MITB one almost comes off boring.

Punk leaves with the belt and maybe will go to TNA to throw it in a trash can in front of 1.0 people watching on TV!!!! And Vince coulnd't do anything he lost his belt his screwed HAHAHAAHAH No dude, even if it's still real to you, when Punk left with the belt you had to be a total mark to think he wasn't going to come back. Vince was traumatized by the Maduza thing, it could not happen again, like ever.

Even if I did think it was real, the WWE owns the WWE Title. Punk can't do anything with it without prior permission or else whatever Punk did with it in another company would result in that company getting sued out the ass. My point was that the biggest thing that came from those four weeks was that WWE did something that we had no idea what was going to follow.

Honestly, I don't like the match that much. It certainly has its moments, particularly the ending motions, but I think a significant chunk of it in the middle is very boring with a lot of meaningless offense that goes nowhere and just pads the length out because outside of the ending they didn't have any actual ideas for it. It is still pretty far and away the best Punk / Cena match though, since it's really about their only encounter (that I've seen, didn't see the Raw match from this year or the Night of Champions one) that I find watchable, but still. And it kind of has a problem I have with a lot of Punk matches, where win or lose he never looks like a threat; even in his big moment, every step of the match Cena basically has his number. Watching the PPV live at the time, the match was amazing. The emotion is what made it good. WWE needs to do that more often. The problem with Rock vs. Cena was that they build was bad and the match wasn't good. Lacked in both areas.

Perhaps someone who knew how to read? I know how to read, and have paid to read many books. Never paid to see just the one sheet of paper though. You've paid to read many books? Who do you pay, how much and what kind of books? When I say paper view the plural is unconacious; implied i.e. iceberg theory. Of course the show wasn't one odd piece of paper! But let us get back to topic.... awesome the E is coming to face the inevitable and matches are now crystal clear quality on their site. I hope this straightens things up.
