Pick any of his matches with Savio Vega. Even the one where he actually won at WM XII was darn disappointing. I thought their IYH: Beware of Dog match was great. I was watching it the other day, thought it was great also. I'd like to add the match he had with HHH at Survivor Series 2000, such a silly finish and didn't mean much as HHH was back on TV a week later I think.

The Caribbean Strap Match is the match that put him on the map in the WWF, and their King of the Ring quarter-finals was the perfect way to debut the Stone Cold Stunner. Both are great and pivotally important matches in Austin's development.

I'm having a hard time remembering the KOTR match against Kane. Was that any good?

I'm having a hard time remembering the KOTR match against Kane. Was that any good? It was an entertaining brawl with plenty of interference and second guessing. Russo-ific.

I recall a match with Triple H he had, lots of outside brawling and he kept falling down. Would been in 2001 or so.

Man, did Steve have any good matches in 2002? I thought the match against Flair was good.

The first match I remember seeing of Steve Austin was a Scaffold Match with Bobby Eaton where no one fell off the scaffold, if I'm remembering it right. I don't remember the match being too good, but I was drawn to Austin's look and presence immediately.
I read the text of an Eric Bischoff interview where he defended himself for releasing Austin, basically saying that no one could have predicted that Steve Austin would get so popular and take off in such a big way. I saw huge potential in him from the start of his run in WCW. Also, Paul Heyman predicted in an interview with Wade Keller around 1992 (after being fired by WCW) that Steve Austin later in the 1990s would overtake Shawn Michaels to become the best in the business. He predicted that eight years before it actually happened. What Eric Bischoff said could not be predicted WAS predicted.
