...if instead of Randy Orton being the "Face of WWE", they actually went with Cena turning heel and getting the support?
The subtle shift could be Orton cashing in, but Cena causing a DQ, and thus knocking Orton out of contention...then the Triple H pedigree and saying "John Cena is now invoking his rematch clause".
How different do you think this storyline would be playing out if that was the case?

It'd be the only way this angle could have been better than it already is. If they had Cena come at the Rumble or February, pretend to save Bryan but then turn on him...man, that would skyrocket this angle to the stuff of legends.

Kinda hard to book a guy with an elbow that sorely needed immediant medical attention and extensive rehab as the top heel.

OK, I did mean if Cena didn't have his injuries.

It'd hurt Bryan and the other babyfaces, because in spite of the crowd reactions, I imagine an awful lot of WWE's audience would continue siding with Cena.

I've come to the conclusion I only want Cena to turn if he forms a two man power trip with Orton.
