Man that was a fantastic article. I would love if they turned that into a mini-video package somehow. Wasn't that reference originally used here post-18 seconds? Yup, pretty sure it was! The last time he walked into WrestleMania with a title, he lost it in eighteen seconds. EIGHTEEN. FREAKIN'. SECONDS. I can only hope that this doesn't happen again. It won't. There's no reason to still be upset about 18 seconds - unless you paid to see that match and ended up, you know, not seeing it. Then by all means complain away. But as far as character development goes, we really can't complain, because intentionally or not it essentially became this: (I made that image but only because I couldn't find the original one anywhere. Still, pretty sure the original one came from here). (And if WWE.COM people are reading this thread, hey guys, love your articles, they are great!)

The American Dragon is still a cool name. WWE should use that, rather than the dumb troll/goat references which have never and will never catch on

The goat stuff would make sense if Bryan had a long goatee or even a Lincoln beard... Not a full on mountain man/hobo beard.

That, and I think there's a copyright issue with Disney's "American Dragon Jake Long" show that WWE might not want to touch. Besides, Goatface isn't any more demeaning than any playful nickname in sports- no Giants fans take umbrage with calling Brandon Belt "Baby Giraffe" or Pablo Sandoval "Kung Fu Panda".

Notice the big error about Dean Ambrose in there?

It's cool that they wrote this, though I wasn't overly impressed by the article. The photos confirm the obvious: Daniel Bryan looks much better without long hair and the big f***off beard. I was a little surprised there were no pictures of him with Nigel McGuinness, but I can understand WWE using photos of him with Seth Rollins. The article claims Bryan faced Dean Ambrose in Ring of Honor, which I doubt. Maybe they meant DGUSA. I wasn't aware Ambrose ever worked there.

The problem is that a silly whimsical name isn't really ideal for a guy who needs to be pushed as a serious top line face. It would be like calling the Macho Man "Old Badger Face", or Hulk Hogan "The Big Golden Gopher". Previous faces all have cool names like The Brahma Bull, the Rattlesnake, the Hardcore Legend etc... "Goatface" just sounds dumb

Besides, Bryan's always come off as the kind of guy that's not afraid to poke fun at himself, which is definitely a big part of his appeal. When a wrestler can't be self deprecating, you wind up with Gunner, and no one wants to be Gunner. Not even Gunner.

Daniel Bryan must be the first wrestler which I really want to see at the top of wrestling. His story of perseverance, the methodical approach that he applies to his job, his love for what he is doing and overall being a likeable and humble guy is an amazing example not only for all the wrestlers in the industry, but also, he is a good example for everyone on how you could be successfull without having all at the beggining

Good read, but...
Saying Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley played an equal role in ROH's success to Bryan, Punk, and Rollins is like saying Horace Hogan was the key to the success of the nWo.
