64 works out perfect but how do you do 63? Apocrypha. Also, the WCW tournament was technically a 63 person tournament (Medusa took two spots).

But.. The active male roster is only about 49-51 people. They could incorporate some people from NXT to fill out the rest of the tournament. Most would be filler, but it would be a great way to get a guy instantly over with the crowd. Imagine if somebody like Sami Zayn kept pulling upset after upset over established superstars and got to the round of sixteen. He'd be a ready-made star.

A tournament to crown a new champ is not a bad idea-I don't actually think we have seen such an arrangement in a while. And the roster is good enough right now that it could be fun to watch unfold.

Hell, with as much TV as WWE runs, they could actually pull something like this off.

I love tournaments as well. If they were to do this, it should be no more than 32, no less than 16.
But the bracketing has to be done so it gives at least an air of doubt for Bryan. Like they can load Orton's bracket in his favor and Bryan's against him, like this:
ROUND 1: Orton v. Ryder Yoshi v. Evan Bourne Miz v. Ricardo Justin Gabriel v. Kofi
Bryan v. Big Show Ambrose v. Kane Reigns v. Dolph Bray Wyatt vs. Rollins
Something like that...

Dude f*** yeah. Mix in some NXT guys and a couple legends, as long as they didn't get stupid with it, it would be f***in' awesome.

It would be awesome. Bring in a few legends and finally some foreign talent for one-off appearances. Also, it would NEVER happen, but imagine if Jeff Hardy showed up as a surprise entrant. I mean WWE could do another exchange with TNA like they did with Christian/Flair, but it is super, super unlikely especially after the TNA lawsuit. Still, imagine the pop when a top heel is standing in the ring then Jeff Hardy's music hits out of nowhere.

64 works out perfect but how do you do 63? I think it could be cool if they bracket it at 64 then have one guy get taken out prior to his match or something so it is really 63 as a nod to the original tournament. Also, I LOVE the idea Stu mentioned about having tournament matches on all the shows. That way they could have lesser pushed talent actually included in the tournament without it taking up time on Raw or Smackdown, makes every show seem important, helps the tournament move along fast and actual open up the chance that lesser pushed talent could actually make it fairly far in the tournament. I mean just have JTG get a win over Curt Hawkins on an episodes of Superstars and a win over Yoshi Tatsu on a Main Event and he is already in the third round. Not really that impressive, but it could be a way to get a buzz going.

If they did it like the NCAA basketball tourney, it would be interesting to see 1st round matches like #1 seed Orton against #16 seed Yoshi Tatsu or #1 seed Bryan against #16 seed JTG(then again, HHH may give Bryan a lower seed, like #8 or something, just to be a dick). This. WWE would be stupid not to have fans create online brackets, with grand prizes being trips to WrestleMania. They could generate a ton of traffic to the site. Also, the idea of bracket busters, if done right, could really create a new star. That being said, does Vince know there is an NCAA tournament?

I love tournaments, so I'm all for a 64 man tournament. It would be a great way to either push a new guy who goes from a low seed and makes a nice run, like Florida Gulf Coast in the NCAA tournament this year. I'd also love to see a legend be in the tournament that "surprises" and wins a few matches, preferably a guy that has never won the title before and they play up the "Impossible Dream" angle.

I think this would be awesome.
They should have an underdog manage to scrape his way to the quarter or even semi-finals. Someone like JTG or Santino.

I quite like the idea of a 'World Cup' style tournament. Let a legend and an underdog somehow get to the quarter finals facing each other meaning that one of them will be in the semis. There could be the buzz created from knowing that either Drew McIntyre or Goldust (as examples) could be in the final four. I know some wouldn't like it and it means some more 'deserving' talent doesn't get the rub, but it definitely keeps it interesting for the viewer. And if there is groups of four, you could have the element of shock (like the soccer World Cup) and have one of the favourites or seeds fail to progress.

I don't even care what the tournaments are for, I just want more tournaments, dammit. Bring back KOTR. Introduce some trophies like Japan have.

I tried sorting them out into 16 wrestler conferences based on hometowns (West, Central, East and International)... East and International were fine, but I couldn't fill the other two.
