Early Friday Eve Box Office: #1 ‘Mutant Ninja Turtles’ $56.5M, #2 ‘Guardians/Galaxy’ $47.7M, Guardians of the Galaxy trails by only $9 million, has already made almost a quarter of a billion dollars. That's really good.

You'd watch 90 minutes of a mayo jar if bay's name was stamped on it somewhere!!! ...ok, that was uncalled for. But still! Couldn't be any worse than Armageddon. ..........you may win, but the tides will eventually turn. *takes jar of bayonaise and walks away.*

I'm honestly not shocked that it's doing well at the box office
A Bay movie based on a popular 80's franchise? Of course it'll make moolah

One thing that pissed me off from the reviews... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Apparently, there is no Hamato Yoshi. At all. Everyone was created by O'Neil's dad. This borders on "Maleficent invented..." bad. Next you'll tell us that April O'Neil irradiated the spider that bit Peter Parker. Or April O'Neil sent Kal-El to Earth when Krypton exploded. Or April O'Neil killed Thomas and Martha Wayne... That has been their background in at least one iteration anyway. So This movie didn't hoe that road. I assume the "hoe" part was a pun, all things considered?

Saw it today. I'll go into more detail in a review for the main site, but....it was definitely a thing.

Doug had some good points it's a dumb film just the first movie. some good and some bad. Would agree with him when he said if you a TMNT fan to check it out.

The first movie wasn't dumb though. Ok, yes the concept is ridiculous; but they played it completely straight, and it was about as perfect an adaptation of that as you're ever gonna see.

Probably one of the best comic adaptions you was going to get at the time

It wasn't too bad. {Spoiler} I was disappointed that the turtles only ate pizza like maybe one time.

He does keep cracking wise after Raph gets a concussion, but one could argue that was a Spider-Man style coping mechanism for him. Wow, I gave that way too much thought.

Just re-watched it. Still holds up for the most part. There are goofy elements sure, but again, you're gonna get that just by the concept. But it was the best adaptation possible. Plus practical FX will almost always beat CGI.
I'd also forgotten that Kevin Clash was Splinter.

The movie does deal with their depression over Splinter's absence, among other things, so it's fair to come to that conclusion.
