The original is in the five dollar bins at Wal-mart. Better value for your entertainment dollar. Just sayin.

I'm the biggest TMNT fan I know, and I've been bashing on this movie ever since Michael Bay opened his mouth. All I wanted was something that took the best elements of Mirage/Fred Wolf/Nickelodeon and merged it into one. And then came the "alien race" comment and I had my torch and pitchfork.
That being said, this new trailer went a long way in softening me up towards watching this thing. Yes, the Turtle designs look like the filmmakers tried way too hard to be different. Yes, Shredder's armor is impractical and just too busy. Yes, Megan Fox is far from the ideal April. BUT, the Turtles I saw in that trailer were acting like the Turtles I know. Leonardo was serious, Michelangelo was fun, Raphael was intense and trying too hard to let everyone know he's a badass, and Donatello was... well, he was there (obviously he'll be the tech guy).
My point is, it doesn't feel like they just reinvented the wheel anymore. They may be ugly, but they felt like the Turtles. Combine that with Saki actually being the guy behind the armor, and this thing doesn't seem like something that will send me into a nerd rage. I'll go see it with my daughter for sure.

I don't know anything about this movie other than the image I've seen of Michelangelo on the side of a 12 pack of crush. This is the only image I have seen. I have not read this thread nor have I watched any kind of trailer. I know almost nothing about this film.
The one thing I do know?
Michelangelo is hideous. Absolutely hideous.

For those of you who dislike Fox as April, and I know I am, you never know....they switched up by the second movie the first time around.

Generic action movie looks even more generic. Well you have your Kraang imitation down pat :-)

I'm at a middling stand point. On the one hand, barring the designs, everyone seem to be pretty in character to what we know, and even the Turtle's voices do actually seem to work really well. But going with experience from the Transformers movies, they're clearly playing up the action and Turtle stuff, so it's entirely possible that all of our favourite annoying and terrible comedy or pointless side characters will be in the actual movie and the trailers just suckered us in like a fishing rod.

I'll stick with the Nickelodeon series thank you very much. EDIT: OK I admit that looks kind of cool. And they have a Bat-Computer?!!? Why? Oh yeah, cause TDK made money so every fictional hero must now be like Batman. Bet their masks and belts will be all black now? Didn't Donatello have a similar computer setup in the 2003 cartoon?

Even if this sucks something fierce, I'll still be six years old again watching live-action TMNT interacting on the screen.

I'll post a more mod-friendly post and say that this movie will still make money(no matter how terrible it is). And we'll probably see many sequels. And also other franchises will likely get the bay treatment/flaying.

I do still think they look better in this than they did in 3. This will also probably be a better movie, but that is REALLY not saying much.
In 3, they all looked like they were dying from radiation poisoning.

Y'know, I really haven't been following much about this TMNT movie or anything, but when I got the promotional email about this Pizza Hut deal that showed one of the turtles, I really had to look hard to tell what it was supposed to be. That's really what they look like? Man, that looks terrible.

So, over the fourth we were at a friend of my fiancee's place. Her son's birthday was the day before and since he's a big Turtles fan, they put out the word to their family members to pick up the 11 inch movie versions of the Turtles. I was looking at them, and they actually look REALLY badass! I couldn't figure out why they looked awesome here, but in the trailers they just look like crap... until it was pointed out to me that they completely downplayed the lips on the figures. They look, pretty much, normal.... it's really that simple.

I actually don't mind some of their gear- taped glasses just naturally suit Donnie- but I'd rather see the Nick Turtles wearing it instead of whatever these ugly things are.
