Big O is a weird show for me. Unlike a lot of the classic anime Adult Swim has played, like Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell, I actually, y'know, like it, but it's far from a favorite and it's not something I've ever really sat down intending to watch. Though for what it's worth, I think it's better in the first season when the art's more smudged and grimy and the weirdness isn't as in-your-face. And when it just ripped off Batman in terms of idea and presentation and not also in its art style. I agree with that, plus the second series of Big-O wasn't as good as the first because they were forced to rush to a conclusion because they were turned down for a third series by the network. Aw well I still enjoyed it while it lasted and still think the Sure Promise is one of the most bad ass character themes of all time. When that brass section cues up, you damn well know it's SHOWTIME! |

Vinyl Scratch vs. Carrot Top
One team is on top of the world, one team is down at the bottom. Can Carrot Top manage to get out of her rut or will Vinyl continue to rule the Bundesliga.
Vinyl Scratch: I never underestimate any of my opponents. So I will definitely tell my wubs to give their all against Miss Top's team!
Carrot Top: If I can score a win against the top team right now, perhaps that will prove the success of my vegetable diet. I must keep believin!
Twilight Sparkle vs. Rainbow Dash
Another top-ranked team faces off against a team that wants to get into the higher regions of the rankings. Will this tear two lovers apart?
Twilight Sparkle: Rainbow is a friend, maybe even more than a friend. But I cannot disappoint the princess by losing so I am sorry but Rainbow will go down.
Rainbow Dash: Twilight is perhaps special, but my team needs to get up there, so we will definitely smash Twilight's players!
Pinkie Pie vs. Apple Bloom
Two teams who have done pretty well in this season so far. But who will come out on top here?
Pinkie Pie: Apple Bloom is such a sweetie, but my team is currently on such a sugar high that I cannot control them. But don't worry, Apple Bloom, I got lots of candy for comforting you later.
Apple Bloom: Oh mah, Pinkie's team definitely looks high on somethin', but for mah cutie mark I must get through this!
Bon Bon vs. Lyra
Two teams in the lower part of the rankings, but two famous lovers will square off which could be leading to a hot duel
Bon Bon: Lyra is such a sweetie most of the time (when she does not get into her human-obsession). My players want a win, but TBH, I kinda want a draw most...
Lyra: My lovely Bonnie is such a caring and kind mare that I would be satisfied with a draw if it came down to it. But my players have other ideas, I think.
Scootaloo vs. Applejack
Both teams find themselves in the middle of the rankings. Will the crusader break out or the element?
Scootaloo: Apple Bloom's big sister? That could be a tough one, but I will do anything for a cutie mark!
Applejack: Dem youngin' sure have gotta lot of spunk, but she will have tah do a lot more tah overcome me.
Princess Luna vs. Sweetie Belle
And for the last one, two teams that find themselves on the lower part of the rankings. Can any one of them get out of their rut?
Princess Luna: We are sorry, little one, but we have an image to keep. But we will make sure to make your dreams pleasent afterwards.
Sweetie Belle: *shivers* The princess? I feel like I am biting off more than I can chew, but I guess my team will give it a shot.

They have access to the scripts, and have come to the conclusion that shes still the same Twilight, and treated the same way, just with wings. The dynamic of the characters is still the same. Twilight doesn't get special treatment as an alicorn princess in comparison to her friends. They remain as equal as they always have been. The quality of the book will remain the same as it always has, (or improve if the recent arcs are any indication, these things just keep getting better.)

Yeah, that's my biggest issue. If the change in status does nothing to change the character or her direction, than it was a really stupid thing to do, cash grab or no cash grab

It does seem like they should really be doing something with it. Like, they should have an episode devoted to the others feeling jealous, could mine some comedy out of Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy having to teach her to fly, could possibly have her trying to find something to be princess of exactly, or sort of it managing to make her feel inferior to the other alicorns due to not doing as much in her position... Possibly could have it serve as the framing for an episode about how Celestia and Luna became alicorns. That'd be pretty awesome.
