Didn't JR do the WCW/NJPW supershows? I'm pretty sure he can do this.

Here's the match card for WK9 so far: IWGP Intercontinental ChampionshipShinsuke Nakamura vs Kota Ibushi IWGP Jr. Heavyweight ChampionshipRyusuke Taguchi vs Kenny Omega IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team ChampionshipsreDRagon vs Forever Hooligans vs Time Splitters vs The Young Bucks Also, GFW is looking at Mike Tenay to do color commentary for the show with JR. A) f*** Tenay. I can't stnd him anymore. But these three matches alone are worth the price of the PPV. Kenny Omega's first big match after being signed. Hopefully we'll get to see a more serious, but not too serious side of him. Kota always puts on a stellar match. But that Jr. Tag Team match!?!?! That's going to be insane.

Mike Tenay could actually be a good choice if he just has to call the action like he did long ago and not be a "sports entertainment" play by play guy. I'd be interested to see if a JR/Tenay team could gel. Thinking about JR calling a Young Bucks match, I really want to see the Meltzer Driver at Wrestle Kingdom now just to hear that call. "BAH GAHD! These two young whippersnappers need to slow it down. There's not enough rules left in the business to break. *slurp* Sonic break."

Didn't JR do the WCW/NJPW supershows? I'm pretty sure he can do this. That was the JR from decades ago. Be like a NFL team bringing back Brett Favre to quarterback. Sure he won championships and know how to lead a team but Father Time catches everyone. Ross will try to turn back time but reality will hit him up.

How much would age really affect his ability to do commentary? It's not like he's wrestling. He sucked in his last WWE run but I would have too if I had a coked up asshole screaming buzzwords into my ear while I was calling the stalest product in ages.

I still think people are putting way too much stock in Good Ol' JR rekindling his glory days free from WWE's control. Calling matches is more difficult than we think it is. I'm sure he'll research the wrestlers and angles but he won't be in Wrestlemania mode. More like standard Raw. Maybe he'll prove me wrong but I highly doubt it.

My hopes aren't that high. I do expect him to sound better than he has in years, though, because he was clearly phoning it for a long time. At least like he gives a shit or wants to be there.

Unfortunately, plenty of football fans that are stuck in the past still want grey-haired Brett Favre to make another comeback, too. And they'll parrott that he's the best in the biz and better than everybody else because nostalgia rots your brain.

Would be interesting seeing JR do PBP away from the WWE, not having to eat the usual WWE propaganda bull.

I absolutely love the hype they're putting behind this and I hope it's hugely successful. I just recently started getting into NJPW and have been nothing but impressed. I just wish I had more resources to be able to stay constantly up-to-date.

New Japan issued an apology to the fans who were looking forward to seeing Yoshitatsu compete, but hope that they understand the situation at hand.

An update, they've scrapped the plan to have Ryusuke be Tatsu's replacement, instead all the planned matches with them will be forfeited. That's a real shame what happened.
