Probably drunk or on drugs at the time he chose the name and couldn't think properly.

I think they referred to it as that every now and then, it just never caught on.

Actually, they did. They just kept crossing between Ankle Lock and Angle Lock.

Meh. They did try. You had an "Angle Slam," do you really need an "Angle Lock" as well?
I mean, Shamrock already used the damn thing. Would if jive it the "Sharpshooter" suddenly became "The Zack Ryder Experience?"
It's a lock....of the ankle; it is the ankle lock.

Not knowing who Kurt was even after the Olympics, I legitimately thought he was called Kurt Ankle for about three months.
I was young and stupid.

Because they pre-cog'd Swagger would need the only other name they could give it, the Patriot Lock and "Angle Lock" would be too confusing because people would constantly be asking, "What angle? 45 degree? 90 degree? WHATS GOING ON?"

Reminds me of when I liked the baseball player King Griffey Jr. That've been an amazing baseball gimmick. Like your faithfull attendants roll out a red carpet that leads you from the dugout to the batters' box. You call for a timeout like sixty-seven times, so as to "get the right feel" of your obviously way more important than someone else's at bat.

Sharpshooter crosses the legs at the knees, Deathlock crossed them at the ankles, similar to The Rock's sharpshooter. Although this isn't an exact science.

Like a lot of people said, they tried to get it over as the AngleLock but it just didn't work. Meh. They did try. You had an "Angle Slam," do you really need an "Angle Lock" as well? I thought it was the olympic slam in WWF then when he went to TNA it was the Angle Slam. It's been called both in both companies I think. Originally it was the Olympic Slam then by the end of his run in WWE it was the Angle Slam. I distinctly remember Tenay calling it the Olympic Slam on his debut but currently it is referred to as the Angle Slam.
