I started watching WCW in 1995. About a couple weeks before Nitro was starting.
I always found Saturday set night, kind of weird looking. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was cheesy as hell. Robot Factory intro, sliding mechanical doors for entrance way. Can't believe that it used to be the A show. Looked really odd in comparison to Nitro. Seems like they were taking places in completely different decades production wise. Also odd that WCW eventually gave up on Thunder to the point it got ridiculous, where as Saturday night, they gave up on, but it didn't get insane the way thunder did. It just kind of reverted to the equivalent of Velocity.

Area 51. WCW made all of the jobbers that it captured fight each other to escape from the Saturday Night base, if any given wrestler could get 5 or more wins then they would be able to come and go at their leisure, if they don't they are doomed to continue wrestling until they have enough wins to escape the diabolical base. Somewhere in a new top secret installation the Gambler and Chip Minton are still wrestling in hopes of escape.

For a time it was filmed at Center Stage here in Atlanta. My dad took me to a few of the tapings.

God damn, do I miss WCW Saturday Night. It's how I was introduced to WCW, and I think it (EDIT: no, wait, WCW Worldwide too) is the only reason I gave ANY damn when WCW died.

They filmed a few episodes in Arn Anderson's hometown, Rome, GA. We lived about 30 minutes away, so we went to some of the shows.
