Is that what I got out of last night's opening number? That HHH can't get why the faces on the roster are sticking up for a fellow face wrestler who's also the #1 contender for the WWE Title? That is either Real-Life HHH (and Steph) coming right out into the open, or incredibly great writing, characterization and the greatest heel moment EVER. ........I may need to be pulled kicking and screaming from the former and to the latter here.

It makes sense for his ruthless Cerebral Assassin character to think that way.

A funny way to ruin the angle at this point would be for the underdog rebel faces to kidnap and beat the hell out of Shawn Michaels to show that Triple H is willing to fight for something bigger than his career. On one hand they're teaching HHH a lesson, on the other, they're beating the shit out of a beloved legend. Have Michael Cole sell it like this is a grand triumph on the Bryan camp's end in battling back against HHH's tyranny, completely ignore the brutal gangland mentality of it all.

Or twist it so that HHH expresses remorse about his friend, but say that he understands that since Shawn has retired, he doesn't really play a role on what's "BEST FOR THIS BUSINESS", and that since HHH has taken over, he's had to put personal feelings aside.

"The locker room standing up for what's right by beating the hell out of that damn Shawn Michaels, a legendary WWE Hall of Famer who has no business being friends with Triple H."

There was someone who hypothesized that Vince (and by extension HHH) didn't really understand the idea of the underdog. They thought people wanted to cheer for the jock-quarterback type who was kind of a jerk, like an alpha male. It could be an extension of that as well. Luckily they seem to be changing their perceptions as of late.
