And here is match two of day two.
Ouran High School Host Club
VS.
Samurai Jack
Once again, never heard of Ouran HS Host Club. So I really can't say much about it. But Samurai Jack? Goddamn, this show was AWESOME. Probably Genndy Tartakovsky's best work. Yes, even better than Dexter's Laboratory. And I liked Dexter's Lab.

Huge Samurai Jack fan. Actually wrote a paper once on the episode with the blind archers.
Samurai Jack was the huge, sprawling animated show that Western animation needed, a forerunner, in a sense, to the in depth world Avatar: The Last Airbender would build. You had references to manga like Lone Wolf and Cub hand in hand with Kurosawa-inspired cinematography. A great cast of characters, featuring a Yojimbo/ Man without a Name caliber hero, that traveled a world that could seemingly do anything: horror, gangster movies/noir, samurai film, mythology, even the Battle of Thermopylae.

My only issue with Samurai Jack was that it didn't get a proper finale to it. Like most things that Cartoon Network has done.

I know there were rumblings of a proper movie but still.

I know there were rumblings of a proper movie but still. I blame the execs at Cartoon Network. They seem to cancel a lot of good shows, but when they can't really merchandise anything from them, they're like, "F*** it, it's useless." And it's probably not the main issue that caused Samurai Jack's cancellation, but it was probably one of the key factors.

Samurai Jack today, Samurai Jack tomorrow, Samurai Jack forever.
I just remembered I could've nominated Ed, Edd and Eddy. Please tell me someone nominated it.

They didn't get nominated. There were a lot of shows I'm surprised didn't get nominated. The Real Ghostbusters, Ed, Edd and Eddy, The Powerpuff Girls, and so on. Well, there's always next year. I plan on making this an annual end of the year thing.

Samurai Jack was just brilliant. It should really still be on TV today.
The Star Wars clone wars cartoon based on Samurai Jack and made by the Jack crew was perfect. It was exactly what the prequals should have been. Dark, brooding and violent to the point. Anakin wasn't a crybaby, he was a bad ass. As was everyone else.
They remade the cartoon and it was soooo inferior I was embarrassed for Lucas. Annoyingly I cant find those cartoons anymore, just the crappy newer ones.
