Whose idea was it to have it be something like an every-man-for-himself kind of bit and have pinfalls in it? I didn't mind the three team deal they had with team WCW, team nWo Hollywood and team nWo Wolfpac. However, the stipulation was that the winner gets a shot at Goldberg at Halloween Havoc. Okay, why didn't they just have a battle royal or tournament on Nitro to determine the number one contender against Goldberg. It kind of ruined the concept of the match in my opinion.

Absolutely agree. I don't like the idea of War Games determining title shots either. It should be your boys vs. my boys in a cage because we've been beating the shit out of each other for months, if not years, now and nothing else will settle it.

The match was a cluster. It should've just been team wolfpac vs team Hollywood.

I haven't seen enough War Games matches, though I should change that. Anyway, from what I've read, it's supposed to be a big blowoff to a feud involving a few members of a team with each other, almost like how Survivor Series always had those eight-man or 10-man elimination tag matches. However, this was just thrown together just because Goldberg was a big deal at the time and had to have someone get a shot from a special match type for the title at the following PPV. I wonder if the Lethal Lockdown matches from TNA got the matches done right despite it taking place in one ring.

It was stupid to make it way. I like the 3 teams but title shots and every man for itself really but there on teams. On top how bad the match was layout. Than there was the Sting factor. He fighting for a shot at the World title at the next PPV. Yet the NEXT night on Nitro he already has a title shot against Goldberg. This was one of those matches you can make the case for Big Lazy on Kevin Nash. Comes out throws a few punches Hogan comes out early slapjacks Nash and he down for what seemed like forever for the rest of the match.

I'm still trying to figure out how Stevie Ray headlined a PPV.

Is this the one where Warrior actually gets a pretty awesome pop but then injures himself about four times and ends up visibly limping?

I love how WCW managed to make a match both a team match AND every man for themselves.
Adding a three way twist to War Games wasn't bad on it's own, but it just makes no sense to throw a singles title shot for the guy who grabs the pin, especially since it didn't lead to any real dissension between the teams, aside from Hogan slapjacking Bret and then it doesn't ever get brought up again.

I'm still trying to figure out how Stevie Ray headlined a PPV. Hey, someone had to take the fall, and surprise surprise, it was him.
