Outside his brief WWECW run, I personally have been sick of him for the last 14 years. Not only is he as big as a planet, he seems to go through seasons like a planet does

Big Show is awesome as far as I'm concerned. I remember reading this interview where he talked about awkward encounters with fans wherein he refered to his weiner as "my mule".

I can't wait to see him make his next variation of a face that looks like he's holding back a bowel movement. He can run the range from possible fart to giant dump and everything in between.

I find Big Show really underrated. The storyline he's in is full of holes and with anyone else this might be really annoying to watch but I find he plays it so well that I'm able to look past its faults and enjoy it.

I do think that Big Show one of the best big man performers of the current era. Yes, Show is a talented actor and he plays his role well. For me the story IS good. But, for me the biggest elephant in the room in regards to this current storyline is that Big Show is one of the biggest names in the company/wrestling in general. While his status in the pecking order means that WWE Creative is compelled to give him something to do to keep him busy, it ironically also makes him a bad fit for this angle, in spite of his superior talent. I know some people may not take this opinion seriously because it comes off as another one of my "Push the Midcard Faces/Push My Guy" tangents, I feel that a low card face would be a better fit because Big Show's high status makes it too hard to believe that he doesn't have any other options besides staying under HHH and Stephanie's thumb. Also JeriShow and ShoMiz's themes are two of my favorite entrance themes of all time.

I know I rag on you constantly for your "Push the Midcard Faces/Push My Guy" tangents, usually because they're as constant and unchanging as the posters I have up on my wall. In this case it's because I can't really think of any low card faces you could put in his place. Ryder, Riley, whoever. They're young guys that look pretty much how you'd expect a young guy to look, they'd probably have an easy time finding work outside the wrestling industry. Big Show's older and has a very uncommon look to him, he'd have quite a few more hurdles to leap over, job-hunt wise. I have an easier time picturing Zack Ryder or Alex Riley as a gas station attendant than I do with Big Show, though the latter image is infinitely more entertaining than anything Zack Ryder and Alex Riley have ever done. Okay, that might not be true. Z!TLIS was pretty damn good in the beginning.

catch_us/miz, this wouldn't work with a low carder for many reasons. 1, a large part of this is that Show is a locker room leader. 2, the fact that he's a massive destructive force is what makes him desirable for Triple H to have on his side. 3, the guy is over and has lots of goodwill with the fans, so they sympathize with him and give him a longer leash with the dastardly acts. 4, he's got the actingggggg chops to pull off this whole "conflicted" thing. I don't love the angle, but it's completely designed for Big Show.
So as for the OP....Right now, my reaction is kind of rolling my eyes. Just waiting for the shoe to drop on this, I feel like he's gonna turn heel and all this is delaying/trying to swerve us from the inevitable.
But overall, Big Show is an amazing performer that has been taken for granted for a long, long time by fans. He's a once in a generation talent, hell once in a lifetime. I don't know if we're going to see another 7+ foot, 400+ pound man with his kind of athleticism and promo/acting ability again.

Yeah I should clarify that I think there are holes in the story but I do love the story, Big Show as the reluctant destroyer is fantastic, and has created some seriously compelling stuff, but how they got there was clumsy and forced. That is the catch 22 of guys like Big Show, obviously he's great at what he does, but he really has just been around forever. It's hard to fault him, if someone's as good as him they deserve a spot, but yet it's a bummer that while Big Show will always have something going on, other guys sit idle and waiting. Like guys like Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston are in similar positions as Big Show, they're being oppressed and that's clear, but they don't seem as interested in characterizing those other guys the same as they're doing the Big Show which is kind of annoying but there's still time to rectify that.

Okay, that might not be true. Z!TLIS was pretty damn good in the beginning. I wasn't necessarily talking about outside the wrestling industry. I think that even outside of the WWE, someone like Big Show would make a good deal of money wrestling. I think that even a low rent bush league indy promotion will fork over a metric shit-ton of cash to book Big Show on their cards. And Big Show would probably get a good deal of indy bookings. Big Show is fairly recognizable and can thus get booked either for indy wrestling promotions or in TV and movies. Yes, someone like Zack Ryder or Alex Riley could also find work, but Big Show has star power that they don't have. Yes, guys like Ryder or Riley look the way they look, and that look unfortunately makes them interchangeable with hundreds of other tan, fit, sexy white guys. That's what makes them better fits. Big Show has leverage that they don't have in wrestling or in entertainment in general.

Big Show has leverage that they don't have in wrestling or in entertainment in general. TV and movies are a given, but to the WWE, 'indies' is the place Daniel Bryan and CM Punk came from, and that is shared by a large chunk of the audience who don't know or care about any wrestling that isn't WWE. Booker T, Christian and Jeff Hardy all wrestled in TNA and had decent amounts of success there, but if you ask someone at a house show to list the companies those three guys have wrestled in, one or two might catch that Book' wrestled in WCW, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who even knows TNA is a thing. Then you also need to consider that Big Show can knock people the f*** out with one punch. It makes sense that Triple H and Stephanie would want him under their thumb. But why should they go to the trouble of holding Ryder/Riley's jobs over their heads? What's Zack gonna do? Viciously teabag Daniel Bryan and Dusty Rhodes until they bend to The New Corporation's will? Is Riley gonna keep reminding Bryan that he teamed with The Miz until he accepts that he can't be the face of the company?

At the moment: Where's the remote - I need to fast-forward yet another segment of him stalling/having the same conversation/crying. In general: But overall, Big Show is an amazing performer that has been taken for granted for a long, long time by fans. He's a once in a generation talent, hell once in a lifetime.
