Granted, Brock Lesnar and Triple H spent the past year and a half beating the shit out of each other, but in order to freshen up some of the pairings, would Heyman's stable (Lesnar, Ryback, and Axel) joining the Authority (Triple H, Randy Orton, the Big Show, the Shield) be a sensible idea? Lesnar could be the wall that Triple H puts in front of Daniel Bryan in his attempt to win the WWE championship, whereas Punk can relive his complicated history with the Shield as Paul Heyman tries to beat Punk using numbers instead of brute strength, and Rhodes and Ryback could have a heated feud after Ryback takes out Dusty Rhodes by smashing him through a table.
It would also allow for some interesting TV and PPV combinations between now and the Rumble at the very least, and people could be added to either side (Ziggler, Del Rio, etc.) to keep the whole ball rolling.
And if Lesnar teaming with Triple H causes continuity issues, Triple H can come out and say "Triple H is good for business. He is a pay-per-view star. He and I sold out Summerslams and Wrestlemanias." And Heyman can add, "if there's one thing Triple H, BROCK LES-NAR, and I understand is dollar signs. This joint venture? Dollar signs."

No, because that forces See. Em. Punk into the angle which will possibly hurt Bryan by making him look like Punk's little brother. At least the YES! Alliance (if it still exists) Miz, and the Rhodes family are all clearly secondary to Bryan and rallying behind him. Punk can't do that. It's no different from the dreaded scenario of "Cena comes back and saves the day".

I wonder if people complained about Stone Cold supposedly playing second fiddle to Mankind and DX when they were feuding with the Corporation...

I don't want to see an hour a show dedicated to ANY wrestling storyline. They just aren't ever good enough for that.

Given Paul's disagreements with Steph have been acknowledged tons of times, and other reasons, it'd just be terrible continuity, even for wrestling standards.

I agree, but for reasons never stated on screen and only formed in the squishy parts of my brain. Axe-luster and Hey-Ry shouldn't join the Authority. Why? The minute they do they have another top star in CM Punk directly opposing them because they're blocking his path to get to Heyman. So in order to distract CM Punk, Hunner told Ryback to help out Heyman and stick CM Punk, but not before Punk beat the shit out of Heyman for a few minutes of course.

Honestly I'd be way more interested in seeing them revolt AGAINST The Authority.
The idea of Heyman leading a faction of scary heels against another faction of scary heels with the faces, the cowards and the tweeners caught in the middle sounds like EXTREMELY compelling television.
Let's say ADR ends up allied with the Authority. Okay, so: Imagine if the Wyatt family is beating up on Miz and Ziggler after a match, and Triple H comes out and orders the SHIELD to clear the ring so he can make an announcement about the recent actions of Paul Heyman (disobeying him earlier in the evening).
Except the Wyatts attack the SHIELD, and it turns into a brawl. Lesnar's music hits, and now Triple H is caught on the ramp between all 3 Heyman guys and the brawl in the ring. Orton and ADR run out to help Triple H, and it turns into a brawl on the ramp, which spills into the brawl in the ring. Orton starts throwing out RKOs, when suddenly Daniel Bryan comes through the crowd and hits the running knee on ADR, before tackling Orton out of the ring. Ryback picks up Bryan to shellshock him, saved by Punk, the two of them brawl with the Heyman guys out of the ring; the SHIELD tries to escape, eats an F5, a Zigzag and a Skullcrushing finale.
Orton back in, RKO to Axel, but then Wyatt hits him with the Sister Abigail. Ziggler hits Bray with a superkick, but then Lesnar F-5s Ziggler, then Miz, then tries to get Punk and instead GTS. Heyman tries to run, and Triple H catches him and pedigrees him on the ramp, right before Big Show comes out of the crowd and WMD's him again. ADR tries to stand, and gets caught by a running knee into a GTS; The Wyatts mob Punk and Bryan, pushing them out of the ring, leaving ADR alone in the center.
Damian Sandow's music hits.
My fingers hurt from typing that but I'm also somehow marking out.
