I like the suggestions in this thread - I'd be down with a Goldust v. ADR feud that results in Goldust being World Champion, followed by a feud with Sandow around the turn of the year, and then if they must do the Goldust vs. Cody match then the build for a WrestleMania match would be ideal.
Basically just let Goldust loose on the mic in those feuds and I think he'll produce some good and memorable fun for all (outside the ring anyway).

I wish they could build to a Mania match without turning either of them heel. They are both white hot faces right now.

A feud with Fandango.
Although long-term I like the idea of Cody retiring him, I'd like to see Goldust's behaviour get increasingly bizarre (even by his standards) to the point Cody can no longer stand the pressure WWE puts on his Brother's mental state and retires him out of (possibly misguided) love.

I wish they could build to a Mania match without turning either of them heel. They are both white hot faces right now. If they could work it out so Cody wins the WrestleMania shot at the WHC then I think they could easily do a face vs. face match (assuming they can keep Goldust hot enough after the initial nostalgia fades). Winning the Rumble would be the most obvious way to do that, but I still can't see that going any other way than Cena returning to win it again and then challenging Triple H for the WWE title at WrestleMania.

How I'd book it Cody and Goldust become tag champs, they run with them for about 2 months. Cody vs Goldust in a #1 contenders match to face Del Rio for the WHC at the Royal Rumble. Cody wins and Goldust hugs Cody. Cody wins the WHC from Del Rio at the Rumble. On a Raw Goldust attacks Cody and they have a match at Mania for the WHC where Cody wins and retires Goldust. The hug to end his career. Your idea & my idea are basically the same www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rp1vo2

Personally I'd give him a lengthy IC title reign. The title needs credibility restored, and he could do that by having a good match with almost anyone.

HHH: Cody, Goldust, as per the stipulation of the match, you are both now re-hired. However we found this canvas bag with the word "DRUGS" on it in bold letters in Goldust's bag backstage, so you are now fired again.

Hopefully, taking the tag belts from the Shield, holding them for a while, a nice spot in the Rumble match and then a Mania match with Cody after which he can ride off into the sunset.

I'd love to see him as WHC, but realistically it'll just be the Rhodes Boys tag team, until they hopefully break up and feud for Mania.

I have a hunch that they're doing the Cody/Goldy match sooner than we think. The whole plot of getting Cody/Goldust back was just so they could do a stip where one must stay and one must go, with Dusty being the ref (possibly) to have to decide the fate of one his sons. It'd be great to give them a tag team title run and then do this at WM30, but I doubt they will wait that long. I'm expecting it at Survivor Series.

He needs some gold in this run. He's been working hard and really could do with a good send off once this is over. I would love for him to maintain this upper midcard position for the next few months. It's the kind of role I would have had him in on EWR years ago.

the return of GTV!
would love for him to be pushed but will probably be in a role similar to Christian, RVD, Jericho as the veteran who will put over talent.

It makes me giddy that Goldust is going to be around at least through WrestleMania from the sounds of things. What he lacks in crazy Goldust antics the last few years, he's made up by becoming this great veteran hand. He seems quicker and more fluid in the ring than he was even in his prime. He really gives off that vibe of "I've f***ed up and throw it all away before, and I'm gonna redeem myself 10 times over", and I can definitely relate and get into that.

I'd love Goldust to win the World Heavyweight Title. He's over enough, good enough in the ring and definitely deserves it.

That's actually a really good idea that would play into the corporation hating the Rhodes. Plus you would have emotional moments of Dusty not wanting to count to three until something like Goldust tells him to do it. You could have that emotional ric Flair/HBK moment where Goldy knows it's over and has Cody hit his finisher and Dusty counts it one two three.
