out of nowhere, the Bizarre one is back! In the current landscape of the WWE, where does Goldust fit in the future going forward?

I'd expect a spot similar to Christian, as an established and popular veteran upper-midcard face who mainly puts over other guys.

To be fired and rehired again, which has been Goldust's modus operandi since 2002.

I read that Goldust's contract runs through WM30 so chances are he and Cody will have a match at WM30 which will be his final WWWE match. They've wanted that for a while so that's as big as he'll get. Before that though I can see them going against Shield for the tag belts for a good while. At the end maybe one of them gets a shot at the WHC and that's why they have their WM match with the loser leaving. He will pass the torch to Cody and Cody moves up the card.

How I'd book it
Cody and Goldust become tag champs, they run with them for about 2 months. Cody vs Goldust in a #1 contenders match to face Del Rio for the WHC at the Royal Rumble. Cody wins and Goldust hugs Cody. Cody wins the WHC from Del Rio at the Rumble. On a Raw Goldust attacks Cody and they have a match at Mania for the WHC where Cody wins and retires Goldust. The hug to end his career.

I really hope they don't turn Goldust heel for the feud with Cody going into Wrestlemania. He's at a high-point of his career right now -- popularity wise at least -- & doesn't need to become a bad guy for this feud to work. Much like the story between Sting & Magnus right now in TNA, I would like to see Cody fail at few times at winning the WWE Title, getting down on himself & Goldust being the one who puts confidence in him again by facing Cody at Wrestlemania. A great swansong for the Bizarre one.

You know I'd love it if Goldust beat Del Rio for the World Title and got a thank you run. And a Sandow/Goldust feud sounds like it'd f***ing awesome.

I too am honestly hoping Golddust gets a thank you run with the WHC, that later puts over Cody. He can drop it to Cody or drop it to a heel and then help Cody win it off that heel. Either way. I mean its all a pipe dream and fairly unlikely to happen but I'd love to see it.

Just let the guy be on the roster and put on great 15-20 minute matches on Main Event every week like he was on ECW and Superstars in 2009/2010.

I'd love a Cody/Goldust WHC feud.

I figure it'll go like this. Cody & Goldust are a tag team for a bit, maybe even tag champs. They go about their usual role, but the commentary keeps going on as it has for the last little bit. Finally, one day, Goldust turns on Cody. He's tired of being the screw up, the odd one, the "failed" brother, and he hates that Cody has Dusty's approval while Goldust does not. Brother vs. Brother have a bitter feud that culminates in an early card match at Wrestlemania that sees Goldust retire and Cody finally chasing the world championship.

-Goldust will be in the tournament to crown a new WWE Champion, where he will be screwed, and Cody Rhodes will become the Corporate Champion.
-Setting up a Cody vs. Goldust feud for a few weeks/months.
-Ending w/ Bryan vs Cody for the WWE Title.

Performance Center: I never understood why they even let him go the last time. There are very few people as good as Goldust to teach the young crop of next gen wrestlers. He and Regal should even be head bookers of nxt

Hopefully a thank you run with WHC going into Mania where Cody can beat him for it and Goldust retire. Even if that run is only the February ppv to Mania. Goldust gets to win the big one and then Cody is solidified as a solid upper mid-card guy. It's only the WHC so why not. At least we'd get the image of Dusty, Dustin, and Cody holding the WHC for montages and both Cody and Goldust get their WrestleMania moment.

This is still the obvious answer of where WWE is going.
