I'm inclined to say yeah. They had great build up with their vignettes, but outside of that short feud with Kane they have kind of fizzled in obscurity since, in no small part because so much attention is on the DB vs Corporate storyline. I think their debut should have been pushed back to right around this time-to coincide with Halloween and to be that much closer to when Kane will be available again. Their start out probably should have been against some mid-card favorites like Kofi, RVD, or Ziggler. Months of squashing jobbers while they wait for Kane to return has kind of damaged them.

What's damaging the Wyatts is this "Only the Main Event Matters" method of booking. WWE wants the Wyatt Family to be "big deals", and only want them to feud with main event level talents. And with a whole lot of top talents either written off TV or sucked into the HHH angle, the Wyatts are stuck spinning their wheels, when they could be having real programs with midcard faces. Kofi is fine, but I don't consider RVD or Ziggler (even a "buried" Ziggler) as "midcard". They're more like "low level main eventers", so feuding with them would just come off as another attempt at making them a "big deal fairly quick".

People criticize WWE for not having midcard storylines.
They get that and then there are complaints that the midcard is overshadowed by the main event.
The main event storyline(s) are always going to "take away focus" from the midcard, but I see this progressing.
I expect to see the Wyatt Family to keep gathering "souls" who come back as their sheep ... but we'll see.
I find them interesting and refreshing.
With both this and the complaints about DBry not going over quick enough and numerous other criticisms, I see a microwave society that doesn't have patience for the slow build and the delayed payoff. If an angle doesn't get settled in less than a month or if a character evolves slowly over time, people lose interest and complain that WWE is drawing it out too long. Perhaps they are, but I see the Wyatt's moving forward and gathering souls/sheep for their flock. I'd rather it be slow-played.

I find it baffling that all the "creative" minds in the WWE writing team can't come up with SOMETHING relevant to do with The Wyatts to keep them busy rather than pointlessly squashing jobbers.
Just have a few vignettes/segments each week of Bray preaching to a few gatherings of jobbers and backstage workers. Maybe even having one or two jobbers paying interest and looking like they might eventually join the Wyatt Family. The Usos interrupt on of the "sermons" and mock Bray. Presto... Wyatt Family vs Usos feud.
Yeah, it's not perfect. But it's better than them randomly squashing people with no purpose whilst repeating "follow the buzzards". I came up with it in 5 seconds.

Just have The Wyatt's eat Yoshi Tatsu, complete with horror movie special effects and everything. New boom period guaranteed.
