One quibble: The Spellbinder was a solid wrestler in Memphis. He was goofy when he was Phantasmo or whatever in his brief WWF run.

Terrific article. Thanks for finding and sharing this. The author is obviously a big fan. I wish he could go back a little further to the 1960s or 1907s, which at least as crazy as the 80s. Unfortunately, very little footage remains form those days, so they're not regularly seen on youtube, and most of the wrestlers from then are gone. We lost the Fabulous Jackie Fargo just a few months ago. Tojo Yamamoto died in the 1990s, and Jerry Jarrett is retired and out of the limelight.
