He's the main reason I'm not watching the TV shows and just reading the results and watching highlights on Hulu Plus right now.
I tried watching Raw for a few minutes last night, and I just couldn't do it. You could tell that Cole was trying to hint for him to ease up a little bit, but JBL was having none of that. I mentioned earlier that I saw Summerslam in a crowded BW3's where you couldn't hear the sound, and I absolutely couldn't believe how much the product improved when the commentary disappeared.

JBL is one of the worst things about Raw, consistently. He does nothing but try and make himself the centre of attention, and he seems to be doing his best to outdo Lawler in the 'let's make the commentary for this Divas match as unbearable as possible' contest. Cole completely burying the Divas in the past was 10x worse than anything JBL has said. He puts over the heels like Tamina and Aksana better than any other commentator does, not sure what examples you can draw where he's making Divas matches 'unbearable' at all quite frankly. Most of the friction JBL is facing is Cole not playing along as the neutral PBP guy. Let Jerry be the face that fights his logic (or get someone better than Jerry to play off JBL). Criticizing JBL because he's figuratively a dollar heel with two dime faces is backwards IMHO.

JBL yelling What kind of name is Xavier!? repeatedly while Cole was trying to setup the Cena video last night made me think of this thread

You know what?
I was a little annoyed with how JBL's been shouting recently, but one thing that happened last night saved it for me, and that's that at least somebody on commentary remembered the storyline that BIG SHOW GOT FIRED AND IT IS ILLEGAL FOR HIM TO DO WHAT HE DID LAST NIGHT.
Better than going back to when Cena got fired and was still jumping Nexus every week to the delight and adoration of Cole and old man Jerry.

I like JBL. He keeps Lawler and Cole (who've been on autopilot for years) on their toes.

I'm pretty sure Punk was saying the same things JBL was when Cena showed up even though he was fired. I believe it caused the creation of, "He spilled my diet soda!"

I generally like JBL, but he does overdo it on the screaming things over and over again to try and get them over. Like, he is completely killing Los Matadores for me.

I just want him to stop singing along with the theme songs. Every time I hear him crowing "WHAT'S UP!", I want to throw something.

I could not disagree more. I have to say JBL right now is my favorite announcer of all time. I laugh at almost everything he does the guy is pure gold right now.

I wanted JBL back because I loved his first run as a commentator, but ever since he's been back he's been terrible.

Criticizing JBL because he's figuratively a dollar heel with two dime faces is backwards IMHO. Any time AJ is anywhere near the ring, JBL seems to get very angry and obsessed with her and lobs out tattoo jokes until he's red in the face. It's pathetic, and if he's meant to be this amazing heel announcer, shouldn't he be putting at least a little effort into putting over the main heel of the division rather than burying her? And shouldn't the 'dollar heel' actually... Y'know, be a heel, rather than fluctuating about whether he's this crowd-pleasing guy who loves the fans and chants along with R-Truth AT THE TOP OF HIS VOICE INTO A MICROPHONE and so forth? The friction is that JBL has no idea what he's doing, and Cole is trying to push it back down a sane route.

Its like he knows a couple pieces of trivia and hes so impressed with himself that he knows it that he just keeps repeating it over and over and over, refusing to learn anything else

JBL keeps saying the Los Matadors are related to some great bullfighters (that 99 percent of people don't even know). Wow that makes them 100 percent more legit. Way to get them over ...

Is getting?
Sorry, but I've never been one for the JBL Koolaid.
I HATE the character. IMO dude has been or borrowed time since he split with Farooq.
Sure, he reads as a heel, but perhaps too much so.
It ain't like he's building for a feud at Mania, he's just smarming any and everything that gets in his path. (up to and including the blah blah of his fellow commentators).
Some of what he does is special, I'll not deny him that. BUT he......doesn't stop, even when greater effect might have been achieved by his doing so and I can't help but feel that is incorrect.

Even an intolerable JBL is miles better than the two clowns he's sitting with.
