It makes me feel like such a mark. Every little thing has me grinning like a fool, the matches are all really entertaining and everyone has unique characters that I feel invested in. It's just really enjoyable, the fact it's in little bitesize chunks make it a lot more watchable, and all the little storylines not being constrained by the main show storylines makes it feel like a whole other company.
It's just refreshing.

It's great. The worst thing about it is the commentary. Regal is great, Renee is fine (and how!) but Scott Dawson is a whole new world of awful, and A-Ry isn't much better.

Scott Dawson is the redneck wrestler, Tony Dawson is the commentator. Also, Tony Dawson isn't with WWE anymore, so you don't have to worry about him on commentary any further.

Honestly, it's just so much more fun than any of their other shows. We're not sitting through "best for business" crap, or stupid promos/angles/videos designed to eat time. The show flows really well, and almost everyone feels important. There's also no mean spirited things designed to "teach talent a lesson."
Thank god, the powers that be don't pay attention to it.

So basically...you like it because they are Wild and Young?

I love A-ry, but listening to him commentate makes me ashamed to be a fan of his sometimes. He is just shit. It breaks my heart so much to watch a guy I like suck so hard.

I watch NXT like I would AAA baseball.
The guys ain't all quite there, but some start to really put it all together and it's fun to get in on the ground floor with them, so to speak.
Plus, the fresh cast offers way more freedom in terms of booking than their big brothers can. There's not really any "five plotpoints of doom" type crap that they just keep stiffing you with.
It might lack the authoritah that a RAW would have, but it stays loose and I've yet to personally see an episode that I've literally found difficult to watch. I can't say that about the other two main shows.

I loved on the recent episode how, despite most of the heels getting the "cool heel" treatment from the crowd (even if they're not cool heels by nature), the main event was a perfectly booked match with the crowd completely behind Sami Zayn and completely hating Bo Dallas.
I wasn't that into it at first, and thought it was getting over-praised on here as the best WWE TV show, but I've come around. There are a LOT of things about NXT that need to be reflected in their main TV product.

It's because Vince and his flunkies haven't had a chance to completely screw it up yet. Enjoy everyone's time in NXT because I would guess that a lot of them aren't ever going to be that over again once they hit the main roster.

These guys are alright, but what they really need is Stephanie McMahon's creative guidance.

He has his decent moments, but some times, I wish someone would just sit him down and tell him to stop. Also, "Renee of sunshine"? Really?

I like NXT because it's booked like a wrestling show, and not the variety show that RAW mostly is.

Question, and this might be a stupid one (and why not? I've already confused a wrestler and a commentator in this thread).
Do the on-screen GM's really do anything? Was Dusty really behind the booking etc? And is JBL now part of that?

It really benefits from being the smaller show. The fact that they have to rotate who appears mean people don't get as stale and even the ones you don't like don't become overbearing. A shorter show means women and tag teams get proportionally more time. Smaller crowd/arena=more noise, having less of a budget means money isn't wasted on sports entertainment silliness, no shilling because not as many people are watching and the lack of monthly PPVs and having to cater to big stars months down the line means the booking isn't railroaded. It really combines the strengths of the WWE and the indies well.

I want to like it and I end up enjoying it sometimes but mostly I find the wrestling to be mediocre a good deal of the time and I'm not so much into the wacky and zany ironic because it's wrestling gimmicks.
Plus. I just don't like the crowd. After going to so many TNA shows back when I lived in Orlando, I can't stand that it's basically Impact Zone: Full Sail edition.

You can thank the Doofus for NXT being good. After all, it's the pet project of Triple H.

It reminds me of territorial wrestling from the eighties. I fell in love with wrestling during the waning days of UWF, World Class, Stampede etc. so this hits all the nostalgia sweet spots for me. I can barely watch Raw but NXT is appointment TV.

There's no clear hierarchy, which makes each episode unpredictable. There's a top feud for the title and about a dozen other people just below that who are shown as equals. I love NXT.
