I'd love to hear some stories and opinions about older puro from a fan that was actively watching then. You said it was pre-attitude era so this is very interesting to me. Tell your dad he's pretty rad!

I was 2 years old, so young I literally don't even remember life before wrestling. My mom was less than thrilled about it, but she accepted it and bought me my first WWF action figures (The Bushwhackers from the old Hasbro line) within a year.

Some of my earliest memories are of me sitting with my dad watching the AWA and NWA. So I call myself a lifelong fan.

I couldn't have been older than 4. I used to come across WWF on Saturday mornings and for the longest time I thought all wrestling matches were a bunch of people fighting each other (ie. a battle royal, only with no idea how the rules worked). In hindsight, this is probably because all the matches I saw were tag matches or something. Maybe they showed Royal Rumble highlights or some shit. Around 6 or 7 my older cousin started watching with me and explaining the wrestlers and storylines and I was hooked. My first favorite wrestler was Tatanka for some reason. I marked for his hair and his wardance brain chop thing.

I was 8 or 9. My parents watched the AWA and went to shows when they first started going together, so I guess it was just something I picked up on. My baby daughter would watch bits and pieces with me, liked Undertaker ("Mommy's favorite!") and was freaked out by Mankind.
My son was into it a few years ago, to the point I took him to a show on his birthday. He's more into video games now.

I'm sure I had seen it plenty before but my first real memory of wrestling was at 8. Shawn Michaels vs. Louie Spicolli on Prime Time Wrestling to be exact. Now I've got a 2 year old and I've been watching it around him since day one. He loves it. He's got a comic style Colt Cabana poster in his room and he's all about Boom Boom (his own words). He actually calls all wrestling Boom Boom or Ba-Ba-Co (his rendition of Generico). It's cute as hell. I'm definitely raising a fan.

I became a fan at...18 or 19, really, when a roommate dragged me to a wrestling class(...long story). I mean I watched it before, but I wasn't reeeeeeeeally into it. Then that happened and the Ryder revolution was kicking up around the same time, so I got into it.

Started watching when I was around 6, but was aware of it from around 3-4 due to an older friend who loved it. For your kid, if you don't have a problem with him watching action cartoons, wrestling shouldn't be too big a deal.
