Quite a different moment compared to the end of Cena/Rock 2.

Quite a different moment compared to the end of Cena/Rock 2. Didn’t the end of Rock/Cena 2 have a similar thing? I remember someone pointing out that if you read their lips after the match Cena thanks Rock then Rock thanks him back and says he came back for this moment. Something like that anyway. Rock’s done this a few times after matches and he doesn’t really try to hide it. Wrestlemania 19 is probably the most obvious example.

I didn't notice that part.
But I do remember Rock raising Cena's hand on the ramp quickly with this angry look on his face, then storming to the back after. It's part of what started all those Rock rumors after Mania.

It's part of what started all those Rock rumors after Mania. I think people were really reaching to find something that wasn’t there. He raised Cena’s arm and posed for well over 30 seconds. I don’t see how he did it “quickly” and I don’t think he stormed off either. He patted Cena on the side then calmly walked away so the final shot could be of Cena which I’m sure was planned. And I suppose he looked angry because he lost the match. Just like Cena after losing to Bryan at Summerslam. You can show respect and shake your opponents hand after a match but if you lost you wouldn’t exactly be all smiles about it.

I love things like this too. One of my favorites is at the end of Punk & Jericho's match at WrestleMania, you can see Jericho kind of ruffle Punk's hair at the end to say congrats or good match or whatever the case may be. It was too adorable.

That's cool. The Rock seems to do this a fair bit; Austin and Jericho have talked about small conversations he's had at the end of matches. I love things like this too. One of my favorites is at the end of Punk & Jericho's match at WrestleMania, you can see Jericho kind of ruffle Punk's hair at the end to say congrats or good match or whatever the case may be. It was too adorable. Yeah, that was the best.

It's part of what started all those Rock rumors after Mania. Wasn't Rock pretty busted up during that match? He had surgery right after it. Maybe it was less a "Rock's mad he had to put over Cena" expression and more "The Rock's insides are bursting into liquid and is probably in a good deal of pain" face.

But if that was the case, shouldn't he be trying to hold Cena as much as possible to obtain a part of his healing powers by osmosis?

I as always baffled about these 'Rock is pissed about losing' rumours because I have literally never heard anything about Rock being upset about losing to anybody, and his character never seemed anywhere as untouchable as Austin's was.

Yeah. That never made any bit of sense to me. The Rock, possibly more than anybody else in wrestling history, has never seemed to have the slightest problem with putting people over. He became (arguably) the biggest name in wrestling. He left to do movies. He did the part-time thing for awhile. Then he left. He did what I don't think ANY "top guy" has ever done of their own volition. He stepped aside and let other, younger, guys have their shot at the spotlight. In between the time that he left and came back to host Mania 27, he became one of the biggest action movie stars in the world. Second probably only to Vince McMahon himself in net worth. He did what NO other wrestler in history has ever been able to do. He LEFT wrestling and became HUGE in another line of work. And yet, somehow, the idea that this guy was visibly upset at having to lose a scripted wrestling match...took hold? That's absurd on multiple levels. The Rock put over the Hurricane. The. Hurricane. The Rock is an excellent actor. Even if he WAS pissed, he'd have been able to cover for it. There's literally no way that WWE could have paid him enough for him to have cared about the money. The Rock is in a class where he can pick and choose whatever he wants to do. There is no monetary offer that WWE could have made him where he couldn't refuse it. He did Manias 27, 28, and 29 because he wanted to. Do people really think that Dwayne Johnson went in thinking that "Nope. I'm gonna beat the current TOP GUY a few times and then leave"? He's not some random celebrity that they got to host RAW. He knows what's up. He knows how these things work. He ripped his *******ed insides open during the match. And he continued with it, planned finish and all. And he raised John Cena's hand. And he made it to the back looking, at worst, a bit less than thrilled. That works for storyline reasons. And that works for real life reasons. The Rock is awesome. And the fact that he thanked CM Punk just goes to the cement that even further. "I'm the guy who's going to end the longest WWE title reign in a quarter century. You're allowing me to do it. Thank you." That's great. And it's not in the LEAST bit surprising. Rocky's a class act.

Why would Rock be upset about putting Cena over? It's not like Rock ever had a problem losing to people.
Considering his guts were ripped up during that end celebration, he held it together pretty damn well.
