I personally agree with that statement, in a land full of great tag teams like The Rockers and Demolition, The Rougeau's are one team that I feel never got their reward, they were so smooth and good in the ring.

Rougeaus were amazing, they're easily my favorite 80's WWF tag team.

Great team, such a shame they never got a run with the belts.

Their theme song is still so fantastic.

Love their theme, and the Quebecers theme too for that matters. Themes sung by wrestlers who can't really sing is an amazing heel move that should be used more as it would add variety to the blandness of a lot of present day themes.
We're not the moun-ties! We're handsome, we're brave, and strong! We're not the mounties, cos we enforce the laaaaaaaw!

The thing about the Rougeaus is that as faces, they were lost in the mix when it came to teams like the Bees, Cam-Ams/Strike Force, the Bulldogs and a lot of other handsome guys. The vignettes were Fabulous Ones level of hilarity. Two buff men (one with the classic '80s mustache) water skiing, boating, sunning on the beach to Gloria Estefan's "Bad Boys (Make Me Feel So Good)". Nothing about these two screamed "bad boys". (Half wondering if Lawler or Cornette had something to do with these.)
They weren't underrated at all, they were just lost in the shuffle. The heel turn made them more relevant and stand out. Watch that SummerSlam '88 match against the Bulldogs. Great match, one of my all-time favorites. It may not have made them big-time players, but it did make them stand out more; two French-Canadians claiming love for the USA. It was refreshing in an era when almost every foreign heel hated this country.

The Young Stallions were more underrated. The Rougeaus did get a midcard program after their heel turn. Powers and Roma were stuck either losing to heel teams or beating the Shadows in their neverending feud. The Young Stallions were very talented in the ring but had no character outside of being good looking studs.

They were a fantastic Power & Finesse team. Their series of matches with the Rockers are gold. Jacques was great at telling all sorts of stories in the ring (especially great at compelling comedy matches). They made great heels.
I personally feel that the Rougeau Family (Johnny, Jacques Sr, Jacques, & Raymond) belong in the WWE HOF.

After the Rockers, they are the best team to never win the titles.
