Based on the Meltzer rumours that the Carters are looking to sell and assuming that WWE were interested and wouldn't keep all the talent under contract (and they wouldn't,) if you only could keep five (you can include tag teams as one,) who would be your choices?
Keep in mind that Sting, Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Bully Ray are no-brainers, so they don't count.
My picks:
1. Bad Influence - Maybe Kaz still has some heat with WWE, but you're talking about the most entertaining tag team in pro wrestling right now and, if the WWE is serious about rebuilding that division, who better than these goofs? They're amazing in the ring and Chris Daniels is one of the funniest guys in the industry.
2. James Storm - A bit on the older side (36,) but he's got a crowd-pleasing gimmick, he can still go and would get over in an instant.
3. Austin Aries - He's small for WWE standards, but carries himself like he's the size of Kevin Nash. He's the total package and would be an instant hit.
4. Magnus - Great look and still getting better, plus he can talk and the WWE hasn't had a solid British babyface since Regal maybe 15 years ago.
5. Knux - Mike Knox never got a fair shake in WWE. His quiet psychopath gimmick he was doing before he got released was really good and I think he can still work as an unstable heel.

EC3 (apparently never happen since they recently released him), Aries, Storm, Velvet, Brooke. If I can take 7 I'd add Bad Influence but not at the expense of never seeing Velvet and Brooke on TV again.

Well if the people you mentioned don't count..
Bad Influence James Storm EC3(as that gimmick) Chris Sabin Austin Aries
Eric Young was a close one
Also Velvet & Brooke(Don't count them as picking 5)

They will make money having Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy, so I could see them offering them both a lifeline back. Sting will have to be included in the deal as WWE wants him bad for the Undertaker match they are sure to have. Outside of him, TNA actually has very little to offer really.
Well EC3 and Gail Kim are out as they both left WWE.
James Storm kinda jumped the shark, career wise last year in my opinion. Him not winning the title killed him really. Bobby Roode is good...but he is not great, so I doubt they will pick him up either. Sabin, maybe as a package with Velvet Sky. AJ isn't what they are looking for, from who they have used over the years. They also already have an AJ, and don't like two people with the same name.
EGO are the best part of Impact these days, but they are more WCW types than WWE so, I don't see them making the jump.
Magnus is improving and I think will be great down the line, but WWE wont wait for that, so he's finished.

Bad Influence - They're the best thing in TNA ECIII - Why he was released in the first place is beyond me Eric Young - WWE loves comedy characters and he's a damn good worker as well James Storm - Honestly, I think The Cowboy gimmick would get over great with the WWE audience Magnus - Has the look WWE likes and has great potential

Storm, Magnus, King, and EC3 (as stated, in this gimmick rather than as Bateman) are the ones that stand out for me as good fits in the WWE outside of the obvious ones listed by the OP. I'd personally keep Aries and Bad Influence without a doubt, but I'm not sure theyre great fits.

I didn't realize how many of TNA's guys are north of 32 in age. I think Magnus is the youngest of all these choices.

Jeff Hardy Bobby Roode Magnus Austin Aries Bully Ray
I hate to say that because Christopher Daniels and Kazarian are the most entertaining part of Impact and I hate to not include them.
Also, I think Sting and Kurt Angle would get special or short term deals, so I didn't select them. Kurt probably would need a schedule like RVD. Maybe Sting too.

I know that this is against the spirit of the question, but I'm going to treat the main roster and developmental as two separate entities.
Main roster:
AJ Styles Bad Influence Abyss Bully Ray Bobby Roode
Developmental:
The BroMans Magnus Kenny King Zema Ion Gunner

Bad Influence: Solid in-ring, hilarious. Manik: With Rey on his last legs (literally), WWE could benefit from having a new merchandise-friendly masked character, especially one with Manik's legacy factor. Kurt Angle: But just as a part timer on a Legends contract. Give him a HOF induction, let him put on some clinics with Bryan/Cesaro/Cena/Ziggler, and keep Punk away from him so he won't have to "HIDE BITCH". Magnus: WWE's apparently looking for more big guys anyway. Young, good look, decent on the mic and can wrestle. Lots of potential to grow and find himself. Bully Ray: A bit old, but he's too detestable a heel to pass up.

Sabin wount last in WWE, for no mic skills, both knees are bad, and probably cannot take the grueling tour shcedules.
Daniels and Kazarian and Styles wount fit due to their age, and mic skills save for daniels, but his age would cancel him
Velvet has too many tatoos, plus she wount fit with the current diva division, Brooke might, now that her heat with Melina is forgotten
plus all the above wount make it in vinces farm, due to time and age
I say
ARIES MAGNUS JOE (he is well connected , just needs to lose weight, which they will try at their "farm") TJ Perkins Hardy

1. Roode- He would be money in WWE. He's a fantastic heel, great in the ring, and looks like HHH's long lost son. Should be a perfect fit 2. Bad Influence- They would fit perfectly in WWE's tag division now that it seems to be going through a bit of revival. 3. Eric Young- In my mind, one of the most underutlized talents of the past decade. He could do WWE comedy pretty well and is a hell of a wrestler. 4. Samoa Joe- Maybe he wouldn't be a good fit but f*** it, I want to see Joe destroy some fools on RAW. 5. Bully- He's been there before and is a fantastic heel.
