Ric Flair-Roddy Piper exchange after Roddy beat Flair for the US Title. (Early '80s.) Piper gives Ric a parting gift of the TV Title he held. Flair says he'd sooner earn his titles, then mentioned how he was met by a fan who caught the foreign object Piper used to beat Ric for the belt.
And the return of Ric Flair from September 1998. Just gave me chills, even when he ripped Bischoff - cutting the promo we all wish we could on Easy-E. "You are a liar! You are a cheat. You are a scam! You are a no-good...sonuvabitch! FIRE ME! I'M ALREADY FIRED!"

I'M ALREADY FIRED!" My favourite thing about that is a rare example of WCW's production truck getting something EXACTLY right, shooting Flair in profile with the crowd behind him so that when he says 'SONUVABITCH' the entire arena jumps to its feet. Love that moment. But yeah Mick Foley's anti-hardcore promos are frequently called the greatest ever. Foley's my favourite wrestler but I don't even agree with that. I'm not sure what I would call the greatest, though. Hulk Hogan's promo turning down Ted Dibiase's offer to buy the world title is a great one. My personal favourite promo of all time probably is Roddy Piper's promo against Jericho in 2009 during Jericho's 'beating the shit out of legends' phase. The crowd's reaction gives me chills, and so does the promo ('I would crawl down here on my HANDS AND KNEES').

There have been so many over the years that it is impossible to narrow it down for me but to go for a recent one I'll go with a Punk promo - but not the pipebomb promo. Not that it wasn't amazing - it was. But the best promo Punk has ever done (in his whole career) was his "Cena is a dynasty" promo during the contract signing with Cena and Vince before MITB '11. That was just amazing and gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

Raven cut a methodical and hypnotic promo prior to his monsters ball match vs Monty Brown and Abyss. It was money.
Flair on the final Nitro was great
Kevin Nash had a good shoot in wcw once where he buried every office in the history of north American wrestling. Unfortunately he also used "shit" or bullshit about ten times and did not get bleaped so it gets forgotten in the shock of his profanity on tnt
Paul Heyman firing Sabu for no showing hardcore tv
Michael Hayes after Buddy Roberts turned on him was a very emotional and fired up promo.Nobody seems to mention it
Bret hart calling out Goldberg march or April 99. The steal plate deal in Canada

There's a great Jim Cornette promo where he apologizes to Ronnie Garvin for previously saying Precious was a woman with low morales, and also unattractive.
He does his Cornette rant and apologizes, and to show his sincerity he has a peace offering for Precious -- and pulls out a box of Milk Bone dog biscuits. "Not only are they good for her, they'll clean her teeth."
I love Corny.
Heel Dick Slater in Georgia Championship Wrestling's heyday cut a promo where he talked about his poor upbringing and how he had to shine shoes on the street just to eat, very emotional, crying over the memory. The TV audience broke out into a chant of "Shoeshine Boy," and Slater started screaming at them in tears and going off about this is why he hates the fans and has to do the things he does. Brilliant stuff.
I think Vince McMahon is the greatest promo man of all time. I'll go with:
"It's me Austin. It was me all along. And you all bought it hook, line and sinker."

You've probably seen it a million times, but Flair's promo after winning the Rumble. Everything down to Mean Gene was great. "Put that cigarette out!"

The Flair and Michaels Old Yeller promo before they're Mania match. That single promo actually convinced me to get the show.

Pretty much any Arn Anderson promo in the NWO era. The three that spring to mind is the "They send one of yours to the hospital. You send one of theirs to the morgue." speech after the NWO attack on Nitro in 1996. There's the "my spot" speech on Nitro in 1997 when Hennig joins the horseman. And there's Arn telling Dean Malenko to "let it be" in regards to wanting to reform the horseman. Not as famous, but chill inducing every time.
One promo that also comes to mind is Ric Flair talking to Hogan in Aug 1996 after Hogan beat up Bootyman to prove that he would destroy his friends to do business with the NWO. Flair ended a promo with "And Hollywood, you aren't gonna see me beating up my best friend....because I can't. And neither can you. Wooooooo!" I always loved how Arn and Flair would put each other over in interviews even when they weren't associating with each other that much.
And how could I forget Dusty's promo in August of 1994 when he agrees to be Dustin's partner at the Clash of Champions. So awesome.

Here's a great series of promos that you generally don't hear much about: Raven's intro vignettes from when he first went to WCW. I love Raven promos in general, and these are no exception. This one is probably my favorite. Gives me chills, yet the words Raven says are really captivating. And the imagery...my God, the imagery. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRJFSFwdCTk

And how could I forget Dusty's promo in August of 1994 when he agrees to be Dustin's partner at the Clash of Champions. So awesome. Anderson had a lot of good ones I can remember. He is like a great book where the description of characters, places or events put you right there next to him. There was Fall Brawl 95 which is one of the more well known. Uncensored 95 he had one shot at what looks to be a huge back road. I enjoyed some quote like "after the show, I'm going to (some car dealership) to buy (large vehicle) and come back and tear up this mountain." Just sounded so awesome and done to the background music of the Stud Stable theme. Just a few years earlier, 1991, had a Windham and Anderson promo. No special match it seems but just that they were a team and meant business. It was shot in what looked to be the same location of the Uncensored promo. Awesome too. Flair is such a big star that he eclipses a lot of guys. It was not just the Four Horsemen. It was always "Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen" as the DVD title showed. If there was no Flair in WCW all those years, as great a talker and sportsman that Anderson was he would be the biggest star. I enjoyed Dusty's Summerslam 89 interview with Mean Gene. Nothing major but just seemed like a cool introduction to WWF. "I am the proprietor of Heartbreak Hotel. I am the man who's a wearin' of the blue swede shoes." You can tell Tony Schiavone really loved Dusty. He marked hard for Dusty when he entered to his theme and then when the Jimmy Hart interference backfired and Dusty landed the elbow you could imagine Tony jumping out of his seat. Then there's the WrestleMania VI Coliseum Video commercial for Merchandise Catalog. I still think Dusty pronounced it "merchandousand catalog" but I'm sure he helped sell a ton of Ultimate Warrior thucups, belts ("You can be a champion, everyone can be a champion"), and his own Dusty t-shirts.

A recent one not mentioned yet that I really like is the Miz & MVP exchange that started with Miz in the locker room on RAW.

I really like Jake 'The Snakes' promo after he slapped Elizabeth.
I also found The Mounties promos to be pretty cool, the guy had a lot of intensity that wasn't annoying.

The true beauty and genius of it is that Slater so had that crowd in the palm of his hand that he could do the first part of the promo KNOWING he would get that reaction to set up the second part and still come off as a heel and not get sympathy. They continued to chant "Shoeshine Boy" at his matches on TV for months after that promo.
